L4.41 Software

Well, my 622 has had L4.41 for several days; however, it has has required a hot boot every morning (apparently hung up loadng the guide). I finally did the old unplug the power cord for a few minutes trick yesterday after a particularly rough time with the hot boot and losing a few very recent recordings in the process. I just hope the darn thing is settled down now!

See the 622 Temperature thread in the Dish Technical Forum on this site.

I have 2 622's and my external 750GB drives hooked up already but I am still on 4.05 I want to call up first thing Wednesday to enable them, but it won't work without 4.41 so I hope they are sending it to everyone tonight or tomorrow night or I guess I will be screwed again..........

How did you hookup your external drive without L4.41?

So the the installer shows with 622.... I say wait hold it I am scheduled
for a 722. Oh yeah.. . He checks the the stock
and they have them
.... long story short I get the 722

Hopefully my 622 will upgrade tonight. I'm looking forward to the ethernet jack finally to start working. And I'll probably break down and pay the 40 bucks to store stuff on an external drive, for reasons that are illegal to discuss here, but not to share, just to back up on a less volatile medium.

...just to back up on a less volatile medium.

Less volatile than what? You think recordable dvd is less volatile? Its not a pressed DVD, a completely different disk all together. Government archives do not allow it for long term storage of any information and give it no more than 3 to 5 years life span.

I'd bet on hard drives before recordable dvds.
