How many of you are using an LCD?

I was thinking about investing in a couple of just regular LCD's, not high-definition. For awhile I did think about buying into the high-definition deal, but I decided to stick with my Sony CRT's. The ones that I have are amazingly sharp with very vivid color and have worked very well for all...

I'm getting Dish but I need advice.

Buy the OX-WHY and stick it into the COMPLICATED-213 and plug in the 666 into the SATAN and take the SuperDish and shoot it with a high powered 357mag and strip off the white ground wire and stuff it up your NOSE and maybe in the end if the weather is clear you can watch TV. Sorry, I couldn't...

How many of you are using an LCD?

You see if I buy one and end up really liking it I probably would feel I need another. I have two sets in my apartment. One in the living room and the other in the bedroom. I do most of my watching in the bedroom and most of my gaming in the bedroom too. Personally I prefer much smaller sets...

How many of you are using an LCD?

I've only used traditional CRT televisions, but am doing some research on LCD's. How many of you out there are currently using them? Do you like them? Had any problems with "dead pixels" or "ghosting". They do(at least some) look pretty bright and sharp. But I don't know if I really care for the...

    Boy is this a discovery

On another forum someone said the same thing about it sounding like my DVD player in my living room probably thinks my TV there widescreen. I may be wrong, but I don't remember seeing anything in the manual of the DVD player that allows me to set the output to widescreen or 4:3. It is an older...

    Boy is this a discovery

I bought a Philips 20 inch flat screen TV today at my local Best Buy store, cuz I've really grown fond of flat screens. I got home and hooked it up and watched a football game and it looked good. Then I watched a TV show that was released on DVD and again it looked good. Then I put in a movie...

    Anyone else notice this?

I don't see why they would want to replace Carly again. I think the new actress is doing a great job in the role. As far as the pixelation goes, Dish told me to go down to the store and have them install an attenuator. That may help. So I'm going to try it and see if it helps.

What about what one guy said about the 522/635 receiver? Could I go to the store and have them put in a higher quality receiver that would eliminate the pixelation problem in my bedroom?

Newbie signing up for Dish for first time, some questions though...

Install a Tivo? An 811? Split the 625 into two TV's? $250 upgrade bill? I'll tell you this whole satellite business is too complicated. Cable is much easier. Plug the black cord into your TV and your done. No dishes, no receivers, no pixelation, just simple cable TV. The only reason I switched...

    reception problem

All these numbers and model numbers and weird abbreviations and all this complicated stuff is not needed if you had cable.

I should not have to alter the contrast or brightness. I believe right now it's set up to the halfway point for both. And I really love that TV in that bedroom. It has great color and I like the smaller 13 inch size. I was looking at Soap.net again a little while ago and once again, in the...

No. The first thing I did was to go back to the store and tell them about these blotches of color. The guy said he has never heard of this before. All he could do for me was to check my signal strength. So I went home and checked it with him while I was on the phone. He said it looked good, and...

    Anyone else notice this?

Actually the white and yellow cables hook up my DVD player in my bedroom to my bedroom TV. So the only cable that has anything to do with my satellite TV in the bedroom is the round black coaxial cable itself which plugs into the plug-in on the back of the TV. Maybe I do have a 522/625...

    Anyone else notice this?

On my living room TV both the red and white are plugged in. In the bedroom TV just the yellow and white are plugged in. I can't remember why the guy at Best Buy said that plugging in the red is not needed, but perhaps it has something to do with my Xbox. Anyway none of this is going to affect...

Well I'll tell you Scott I would not recommend switching over to Satellite. I just did switch from cable to satellite, mostly because there are more NHL games available on satellite. But I've noticed what's called "pixelation" on one of my favorite shows. Never had it when I had cable. I'm also...
