Here in the Richmond, VA, area the locals are being broadcated in HD over the air. I pick them up free with an attic antenna.

It is now 14:48 hrs here and the channel is still locked on, albeit with a signal strength of 12, on a yellow,not green band. Now it is 15:25 hrs and the channel (8945, Sat 118, transponder 18) came unlocked again. The signal strength is down to 5 or less on a brown band. Channel 8933...

It is now 10:30 near Richmond, VA, and the channel is locked on with a signal strength of 10 max. By noon it will probably drop out again, as it did yesterday. The adjacent channel on transponser 19 is locked on with a signal strength of 50. How can there be such a difference between transponders?

Channel 8945 intermittend lock-on Ok, Sat 118 transponders all lock on fine except #16 and #18 (turbo coded?). Ch 8945 is on transponder 18. When I contacted Dish the rep told me I needed a tech to solve my problem. It is not my problem! Of over 200 channels, only one is not locking on...

I pay all bills via electronic bill pay so don't have the acct# at my finger tips. Coax I can fix myself but the last tech said the coax and all connections were ok. I'm ready to dump the Dish service and go to PC and antenna TV. I'm a 10 year customer and if Dish wants to lose me too, fine.

the channel number is 8945. If Dish is going to charge me $95 again for coming out, then forget it. I'm not on the $6 service contract either because I can fix most things myself.

All the other transponders I use on SAT 118 are working ok. When I had a tech out for a similar problem I suggested that it may be a coax problem and he dismissed the idea. He removed the SAT switch and installed new equip at the dish which now does the switching. Then the system failed again...

Satelite 118 transponder 18 not working for longer than 3 seconds at a time

Signal Strngth fluctuates rapidly between zero and 100%. Other transponders on that Sat are working fine. What could be the problem?
