Interestingly, CV phone-called their subscribers on Sunday morning to advise that CBS was back. FWIW, Fairfield county is CT's most populous county. Ffld does get its CBS Jets games on CBS-2, the Pats games com in on CBS-3. There are other scenarios where Ffld folks might choose CBS-3, as well.

More news: 1) the reason that New Haven CV subscribers have NO access to CBS is two-fold. WFSB pulled CBS-3 AND CV pulled CBS-2. CV is lying about this on their CBS-2 screen. 2) CV is pulling CBS-3 from Fairfield county, but Ffld still has CBS-2 3) CBS-3 pulled itself from CV everywhere...

CV does appear to be setting the standard for negotiating with local channels. Their habits of charging-full-price WHILE they are paying nothing for absent channels is troubling, though. I wonder if there are any lawyers with time on their hands...

It also augurs for future trouble as ABC-7 & ABC-8 or NBC-30 & NBC-4 get into 'snits' with CV in the near future...

It IS interesting that, unlike the FOX-CV fight that ended up with CV dropping FOX-5, the interim availability of CBS is suspended on free-per-view cable boxes.

The World Series Baseball's world series starts Wednesday night and this bruhahah will clearly cause interruption for CT's Cablevision viewers in New Haven and Litchfield counties (it looks like Fairfield county gets NY5). I just wonder if CV is showing some misfeasance in putting this-segment...

One more update. Interestingly CV's Channel 500 permits access to September/October FOX shows, even though CV isn't presenting ANY channels that carry FOX. So if you want to watch Bones or any FOX show, you can! I want the football, and that isn't available by this technique.

Update. Antenna in attic works great for NY5. Still pricing Channel Master 7400 against Entone's (the latter does firmware for CM and sells its own stuff, too). ESPN on IPTV is still an investigation, too. It is amazing that Tribune hasn't cracked, either. In the heat of the Election-spending...

In CT, this fight includes Hartford 61. FOX TV & NFC football. I put up an antenna in my attic today. I aimed it at the Empire State Building in NYC. It works, I get FOX5! CV dumped NY5 more than a year ago, in a fight with FOX. There are a few providers of IPTV for ESPN, etc. With this success...

It looks like the ap checks to see if you are going through-Cablevision and through-home. You might be able to fool it with a VPN tunnel, but I haven't tried it. The VPN (virtual private network) would involve a VPN-manager on your home network accepting a VPN-tunnel request from another devices...

The iPod touch and Android apps are also nice. They don't have the live-TV feature, though. One question to Isaac, does it work on neighbor's WIFI setups or on Optimum regional WIFI setups? Thanks

The other really nice thing is that CV has cleaned up its QAM lineup, too. Most QAM tuners will assign 2-1 to WCBS-HD, 3-1 to WFSB-HD, etc. This could basically obliterate the need to have an outside antenna. AFAIK, their price for these channels is 'Broadcast Basic' for $15.52. It doesn't...
