I have my tv2 connected to a Magnavox DVR/DVD recorder. So it makes sense because Dish isn't receiving 2nd receiver or dvr fees.

It took a software upgrade. So why does Dish bother with that since it can not be activated? Why not just totally disable the unit instead?

Putin TV aka RT. I wouldn't care if Dish dropped it. Only watched it a couple of times before. Watched it once after Putin's invasion of Crimea. Definitely slanted towards Putin's views. Won't watch it again.
