If you are not smart enough to know that you are not losing but gaining with the black bars at the top and bottom, get some cd's from the library of old radio shows and listen to them. Then you don't have to worry about picture shape. Just my 0.20 cents (2 cents with inflation) worth.

I agree with OAR. Even 4x3 if that is what it was originally done in. HD should be a process of quality, not shape. It is not up to the exhibitor to crop portions of the original vision (many times at random).

I honestly thought that the people with this type of problem were planted by marketers for the other services. I still believe some of this may be true. Mine was not. There needs to be a way to discuss problems with the people making the decisions.
