Nope. I am certain of that. I've had unreturned equipment fees a few times, even though I received emails from Dish stating they received the equipment, but never any upgrade fees of any sort.

That's what I did. At first they gave me a hard time, but I was able to get them to send me one - although it doesn't work!

Everything checks out ok power wise. The problems I was experiencing seemed to have gone away since I disconnected my EHD. ;)

Power supply on the receiver?

Yes, it scanned with no problem. I even had a picture, until I changed a channel, that's when the receiver locked up. This happened 4 times before I took it out.

So, I received my free OTA module from Dish yesterday. I installed it today, with no problems, until I went to switch channels - it locked up my receiver and the only thing I could do is restart it by unplugging it. :( I have read about other problems with this module, but couldn't find any...

Makes sense. The receiver ended up working with the EHD connected during the authorization and software/programming updates. Although, it did seem to take longer than it should have. I have not connected it again yet, as I want to monitor it for a few days or so to see how it behaves with it...

Interesting. I will certainly keep that in mind. It seems to be behaving ok since I unplugged my EHD. I am still thinking this a bad software update.

I tried that already. I checked the outlets with a mulitmeter and everything checks out fine. What I did discover is, it worked fine when I unplugged my EHD. I will monitor it for the next few days or so to see how it behaves.

So I just chatted with DISH and they are sending me a new OTA module at no cost. ;) I've been iffy about DISH's customer service in the past, but this past week they have actually been, dare I say it, good? :)
