Everything checks out ok power wise. The problems I was experiencing seemed to have gone away since I disconnected my EHD. ;)

Power supply on the receiver?

Yes, it scanned with no problem. I even had a picture, until I changed a channel, that's when the receiver locked up. This happened 4 times before I took it out.

Makes sense. The receiver ended up working with the EHD connected during the authorization and software/programming updates. Although, it did seem to take longer than it should have. I have not connected it again yet, as I want to monitor it for a few days or so to see how it behaves with it...

I tried that already. I checked the outlets with a mulitmeter and everything checks out fine. What I did discover is, it worked fine when I unplugged my EHD. I will monitor it for the next few days or so to see how it behaves.

A technician came out to my house this morning and replaced the bad replacement receiver with a brand new 722K. He checked everything, including power and everything checked out ok. He thinks the replacement receiver, which was a refurb, was tossed aound too much on the FedEx truck. The funny...

I think I am going to invest in a fan or two. But that means I'll have to spend even more money to get a powered USB hub, since I have an EHD and soon to be Sling, so no available USB ports. :)

Can't, my receiver is dead. :) But yes, I will check that once I get the new one installed. The only thing I can think of how it might possibly be overheating if that is the case, is my wife or kids are shoving the Wii Remotes and other stuff on the sides of the receiver.

Thanks for the tip. I may try that, but I just don't want to believe it's an overheating issue when I've never had this issue before and nothing has changed. There's always been more than enough airflow around the receivers. :)

Yes. There is nothing bloacking the aiflow all around the receiver.

Yep. Nothing has changed as far as that goes. There's an opening in the back of the cabinet it's in and there is no door in the front of the cabinet, so there is plenty of air flowing around it.

So last week, after approximately 2 years, my 2nd 722 Receiver decides to stop working. I did the usual troubleshooting (unplugging it and plugging it back in, etc), to no avail. When I press the power button, I hear the hard drive start to spin up, the green power light comes on, then goes off...

True, but I have a 722 on the 1st floor with a tv using the 2nd tuner on the 2nd floor, and the remote doesn't always work that well. :( Besides, I would still need to run HDMI and Ethernet if I put these in the basement, so I might as well run caox for the antenna as well.
