    KU band help

When I wanted to go to K band, I bought a corotor and a Ku LNB. It wouldn't work for Ku, not even once, but C band was perfect. I fiddled with alignment for months because everything I was hearing said that Ku was tough to align. After a lot of frustration I decided to replace the new LNB. As...

    922 Receiver

Does your actuator setting match your installation? That is, is it set linear/east or linear/west and how is your actuator attached? Linear/west is when the actuator arm end hooks to the right side of the dish centerline when viewed from behind the dish. Are you sure the wiring of power out...

    922 Receiver

When I do a master reset it leaves the east and west limit both on 5000 on my box. You can't access the menu to program any satellites until you have some range between the east and west limits. What I do is just highlight one of the 5000's, use the left and right arrows on the remote and when...

    Big Dish HDTV

Thanks, guys. I guess I need to get an HDD 200 and I've meanwhile found some used ones. I'm going to look into the 920 battery issue. I've known about it for some time now and actually changed the one in my videocipher modue successfully. I figured that if I messed that one up I wouldn't be...

    Big Dish HDTV

I am looking to go to HDTV. I have a Motorola 920 and access to HD channels that are included with some subscriptions. If I go to them with my regular TV I get a blocky mess and intermittent sound. As best I can figure out, I need to get a Motorola HDD 200 to hook up between the 920 and the...

anyone ever experiment with antennas before?

When I was growing up here in eastern Ohio (early 60's) I was turning the TV tuner and got a station on channel 3. All we had for an antenna was rabbit ears. The picture was clean and the sound was good. I knew there was no channel 3 nearby so I watched a while and it was New Brunswick, Nova...

    4dtv 922 question

I have a 920 which is pretty close to a 922. When I just had C-band, my setting was C-band lnb. Now that I have both C and Ku the setting is C and Ku lnb. Everything works fine.

    pas 9

I haven't been to PAS 9 for a couple of years but I was able to tune C band at that time, from here in eastern Ohio.

    Channel Master Feedhorn

It sounds like an alignment issue. The digital channels are a little harder to lock than the analogs are to tune. Try what tdti1 suggested. When you lock a digital channel it will be a really clean picture. It sounds like you are close.

    Channel Master Feedhorn

You could try making sure that your feed horn is centered on the dish, that the focal length is set correctly, that the dish is round and flat across the face. All of these things will affect performance. If you find that the feed horn is off center and correct it, you will probably need to...

    Button hook To Quad Legs

My 10 footer has a buttonhook. I took stainless cables and fastened them to the scalar ring by putting a loop of metal around the scalar ring in 3 fitted sections that bolt together with 3 1/8 in. stainless bolts, 120 degrees apart. That way I could tighten the bolts and secure the metal to...

cleaning , preping and tuning my old dish

If you take off the actuator arm to clean it up you can use a 12 volt trolling motor battery to run it in and out, at least that is what I did. I also put a boot on mine to keep it out of the weather after I got it cleaned up. Your arm looks like new compared to what I'm using, but it works fine.

    can not find X4

I am assuming you have a Motorola 920 or 922. When you configure your box to have a Ku band LNB it will add the Ku band satellites to the list that you choose from to set the position and skew for the installtion of that satellite. If you want to get X4 you will need to have Ku capability on...

Slaving FTA to existing C-Band setup

I have both C and Ku band. I have two splitters that can pass DC power on both ports but also block the reverse flow of DC on both ports so there is no feedback issues from my Coolsat to my Motorola 920 and vice versa. That way whatever STB is turned on will power the LNBs.

    terrestrial interference

I had the same problem two years ago but it is now gone. There is a radio tower west of me and I figured that they were doing something but I was never able to get them to own up to it. In my case it woud go on for a couple of hours and then quit. The pulses were about 40 seconds apart for...
