    Soapnet mapped in on X4

I also had Soapnet for a short while, but gone today. While we are all wishing, I hope they make a deal with Discovery so we don't lose History, etc. as threatened. Sent several letters to Discovery when this was getting set up, telling them I've subbed since the 80's and hoped to be able...

    My C-Band find / A few questions

Your dish looks a lot like mine. I took a thin knife and loosened the flanges around the bent mesh so it would slide out. For a bad one like this try to find a sheet metal shop. They took my panel and ran it back and forth thru a pair of rollers. It came out almost perfect for flat even...

This dish has "the bends!" Anyone had luck with revitalizing 'em? I get to take it home....

My 10' mesh got hit by a tree limb and looked like a giant black potato chip. Took it down and without feedhook laid it on the garage floor. Wrestled and bent it until it laid flat. Mine had 12 ribs and a couple were bent. I took a scrap of wood panel and made a template of the good ones...

How to use the new X4 guide without issues or solve them.

I just discovered what seems to be going on with my guide. Every few days when searching for channels or info it would lock up and ater a few minutes restart the box and have to reload the guide. It appears that my guide loads up and uses all the guide memory. Soon as I look for something...

    DSR 922 Time

Glad to see I have lots of company with the time shifting back & forth. I know the old 920 I'm using is flaky. Moto is playing something as it goes in & out of DST and I'm mostly on the History channels.

Best Universal Remote for DSR-410 that doesn't "Break the bank?"

I don't claim to have the best, I pick up cheap remotes from flea market. Been using a Cinema 7 One for All URC7200 for some time on 4dtv 905 and 920. Not sure which code I'm using now, but have 869 and 1900 scratched on batt cover as 4D codes that work in Cable/Sat mode. I have another model...

How does the info get in the guide?

Yes, yes, I've seen your site! Hope Iceberg gets a nickel every time you advertise here. Had to go there to see the numbers after the subscriber tease you posted yesterday. I don't think any amount of resets will correct bad headend data input or magically add the PBS channels to the guide...

How does the info get in the guide?

I've wondered about how the info gets in the guide. Some channels seem to have the same issues as before transition and I suspect we are just getting a portion of the same old Moto guide. If this is the case, too bad a little more couldn't be opened up such as the NET channels. For example...

    The Numbers are in

I too hope that adding 10,000 to the 800 410's gives them a boost. Also curious how many are SRL/Sky converts like me. There's a lot of unused dishes around, many folks don't know programming is still there. Some gave up due to non-existant service for C band, etc. I'm a happy camper with C...

    Daylight Saving Time

Up until the last week I thought the time issue wasn't affecting me. Then I noticed that the guide didn't agree with the programs and found my time switching in and out of DST. Haven't been off of X4 since I noticed this, about a week. Also haven't tied it to any particular channels. Seems...

    Rumors of Discovery

OK, now you can count 6. I haven't seen any info on the subscribers but hope its looking promising to keep supplying us. Hopefully they can add the required discovery to keep what we have. For what I want, this is still the most practical way to subscribe. The pricing keeps getting closer to...

New HIT Channels on SES1 and AMC18

Does anyone have numbers of how many subs there are to HITS? Hope SRL & Sky are getting good results out of this. We are passing thru the 6 month probation with Discovery channels. I'm a happy subscriber and want to stay that way. Will upgrade if other Disc channels added.

New HIT Channels on SES1 and AMC18

I too am glad to have this option still available. Been a subscriber to C band since the 1980's, and always liked being able to buy what I want without too many unwanted channels pushed on me. Will be watching as long as it or I am here.

Please help me Make a List of C/KU Receivers

I'm surprised no one brought up the old hand cranked dish positioners. Bet you debated changing sats on a rainy day. I had a similar thing by choice. For some reason back then, my MA/COM companion positioner box was on back-order. After a week, and being told it could be a month or more; I...

    No power to motor-help.

I second that, since you say it "warms" enough to loosen when soldered to the surface to droop. The minimal connection to the rectifier is probably not enough to carry the current and overheating. A good solder joint to legs that pass through the board will carry current with less resistance...
