    DVR to Computer Video capture

Well, HDCP was finally cracked this week. This problem is going to get a whole lot easier to solve in the near future. For now, you are stuck with Analog connections only though.

Wiring a new house, need advice on heavy-duty set-up

As was stated above. I'd only run one Cat6 cable to each room. Then you can just place a 1 Gig Ethernet Swtich in any of the rooms where you have more then one connected device. There's certainly nothing wrong with multiple drops to each room, but it's just a bit of an overkill.

Need help with Dual HD-DVR Multi Room Setup

Well, today was very successful. We didn't need to swap out any of the hardware. All that was needed was the installation of the DECA Broadband Module down in my basement next to the main ethernet router & switch that serves the Cat5e throughout my house. Once that was installed, I plugged...

Need help with Dual HD-DVR Multi Room Setup

Well, here's an update. I just got off the phone with the installer, and he's going to swap out my stubborn HR24 DVR and bring out the DECA Broadband Module and we're going to install that as well. I'm interested to see how it works out.

Need help with Dual HD-DVR Multi Room Setup

Thanks. I'm going to push my installer to get the DECA Internet Connection Module out to my house ASAP so I can get the boxes on my own network.

Need help with Dual HD-DVR Multi Room Setup

I don't have the Broadband DECA connection kit right now. Though I do have Cat5e runs to all the TV locations (I just don't have them plugged into the network right now). My installer was supposed to bring one out, but forgot it yesterday. I guess I'll push to have him bring one out again...

Need help with Dual HD-DVR Multi Room Setup

Hi, I'm a long time Dish Network customer who just signed up with DirecTV. I haven't ever really done much posting over in this forum, as I've usually posted on the Dish side of the forums. Anyway, I'm having some issues with my new install, and neither the local install tech nor DirecTV...

    Official 922 Release Notice

Any idea on cost? Are we looking at a full 200 dollars like the SlingCatcher, or will this potentially be pretty cheap? One 922, plus 2 of these (one for the bedroom / one for the theater), and I could get rid of my second receiver.

    Official 922 Release Notice

Does Dish have any kind of Sling Catcher device, it looks like Sling has pretty much discontinued that (it's not in stock anywhere). I actually like the idea of having one 922 for the house and a Sling Catcher type device in the bedroom. Are other Dish Receivers going to be able to receive the...

    DVR recordings to iPhone/iPod

It would be great to see Dish release an iPhone/Touch app where you could plug the device into the receiver and directly transfer shows over to the phone/ipod. I'm fairly sure they could encrypt the shows and properly protect them so they'd be worthless to anybody but yourself.

    Slingloaded HD DVR922 at CES

This is the 1st receiver that I've ever been ready to plunk money down for on day one. It has every feature I could realistically hope for at that price point.

My suggestion for DISH--Ultimate HDDVR Package

THE big sticking point for a lot of people (especially me) if the refusal to allow you local RSN in the HD Only package. I'd gladly pay a premium to add it, but it's not even an option.

    HD "only" package ($29.95) ??

I would have signed up for it a while ago, but not being able to keep my RSN is a deal breaker.

    I don't mean to hurt anyone's feelling..

I think that's what I'm going to end up doing. I'm only 2.5 hours south of Chicago, and I'd love to have their locals anyway. I used a local installer to put everything in, so I'm also not worried about service calls, since I'm going to call the local guy directly over the Dish 800 number...
