    DVR to Computer Video capture

Well, HDCP was finally cracked this week. This problem is going to get a whole lot easier to solve in the near future. For now, you are stuck with Analog connections only though.

Wiring a new house, need advice on heavy-duty set-up

As was stated above. I'd only run one Cat6 cable to each room. Then you can just place a 1 Gig Ethernet Swtich in any of the rooms where you have more then one connected device. There's certainly nothing wrong with multiple drops to each room, but it's just a bit of an overkill.

Need help with Dual HD-DVR Multi Room Setup

Well, today was very successful. We didn't need to swap out any of the hardware. All that was needed was the installation of the DECA Broadband Module down in my basement next to the main ethernet router & switch that serves the Cat5e throughout my house. Once that was installed, I plugged...

Need help with Dual HD-DVR Multi Room Setup

Well, here's an update. I just got off the phone with the installer, and he's going to swap out my stubborn HR24 DVR and bring out the DECA Broadband Module and we're going to install that as well. I'm interested to see how it works out.

Need help with Dual HD-DVR Multi Room Setup

Thanks. I'm going to push my installer to get the DECA Internet Connection Module out to my house ASAP so I can get the boxes on my own network.

Need help with Dual HD-DVR Multi Room Setup

I don't have the Broadband DECA connection kit right now. Though I do have Cat5e runs to all the TV locations (I just don't have them plugged into the network right now). My installer was supposed to bring one out, but forgot it yesterday. I guess I'll push to have him bring one out again...

Need help with Dual HD-DVR Multi Room Setup

Hi, I'm a long time Dish Network customer who just signed up with DirecTV. I haven't ever really done much posting over in this forum, as I've usually posted on the Dish side of the forums. Anyway, I'm having some issues with my new install, and neither the local install tech nor DirecTV...

    Official 922 Release Notice

Any idea on cost? Are we looking at a full 200 dollars like the SlingCatcher, or will this potentially be pretty cheap? One 922, plus 2 of these (one for the bedroom / one for the theater), and I could get rid of my second receiver.

    Official 922 Release Notice

Does Dish have any kind of Sling Catcher device, it looks like Sling has pretty much discontinued that (it's not in stock anywhere). I actually like the idea of having one 922 for the house and a Sling Catcher type device in the bedroom. Are other Dish Receivers going to be able to receive the...

    DVR recordings to iPhone/iPod

It would be great to see Dish release an iPhone/Touch app where you could plug the device into the receiver and directly transfer shows over to the phone/ipod. I'm fairly sure they could encrypt the shows and properly protect them so they'd be worthless to anybody but yourself.

    Slingloaded HD DVR922 at CES

This is the 1st receiver that I've ever been ready to plunk money down for on day one. It has every feature I could realistically hope for at that price point.

My suggestion for DISH--Ultimate HDDVR Package

THE big sticking point for a lot of people (especially me) if the refusal to allow you local RSN in the HD Only package. I'd gladly pay a premium to add it, but it's not even an option.

    HD "only" package ($29.95) ??

I would have signed up for it a while ago, but not being able to keep my RSN is a deal breaker.

    I don't mean to hurt anyone's feelling..

I think that's what I'm going to end up doing. I'm only 2.5 hours south of Chicago, and I'd love to have their locals anyway. I used a local installer to put everything in, so I'm also not worried about service calls, since I'm going to call the local guy directly over the Dish 800 number...

    I don't mean to hurt anyone's feelling..

I'm really happy with OTA and Dish. It's a great combo for me that serves all my needs. The only thing I wish is that the 622 had a second OTA tuner. I have to record The Office in SD since the wife needs her Grey's Anatomy in HD. Two OTA tuners would solve my only real issue.

    EchoStar Unveils ViP-TV

What about delivering high def channels to the smaller local markets using IPTV instead of eating up the satellite bandwidth?
  17. HeavyC

How long will you wait for DISH to deliver before switching to DirectTV

It's all going to equal out soon enough. I see no reason to switch. I want Sci-Fi HD as much as the next guy, but not enough to go through the trouble of switching everything. I'm sure by the end of next year the differences in HD offerings will be pretty much cosmetic.

    622/722 Remote Question

So, I'm guess this is what I'm looking for then. BRAND NEW DISHNETWORK 6.2/6.3 IR/UHF PRO/LEGACY REMOTE - (eBay item 120166491378 end time Oct-04-07 16:49:55 PDT) Is there a better place to buy extra remotes? Perhaps from one of the forum sponsors? Or is ebay the best place to look.

    622/722 Remote Question

What's so special about this specific remote? Does that allow me to control it without switching it over to Single User Mode?

    622/722 Remote Question

Thanks, that answers all my questions. I can just flip it over to Single Use mode and go downstairs...not a big deal at all.

    622/722 Remote Question

Don't shoot me if this has been discussed elsewhere, I wasn't having any luck with this specific question with the search feature. I'm having Dish installed again next Friday. I'm getting a 722 put in. My plan is to hook the HDMI up to our main TV upstairs and then run component down to my...

    Dish Network News from CEDIA

Well, we can mark the 1st of the year down as the date I make my jump back to Dish. This is the final nail in the coffin for Mediacom. I've been waiting for any easy cost effective way to add a second HD-DVR for my home theater. The 211 with a beefy external drive is the way to go. The 622...

    Using a VIP211 as a DVR?

I have to say, it would be a welcomed feature. I don't necessarily need a second 622 for my home theater. However, I would like the ability to record football games and the big weekly TV series like Lost and Battlestar Galactica that my wife and I enjoy watching on the big screen. For that...

When is DN coming out with Dual HD tuner DVRs?

Yeah, eventually, I may just end up going the dual 622 route. One for the theater in the basement, and one for the general use main floor TV. I've thought about not putting one down in the theater, but that's where the majority of major sporting events get viewed in my house.
