    Seattle HD on Dish

why do you have problems in PDX sam? I find the only real bad spot is west linn down by the river. or up on the hill right under the towers as they start getting spread too far apart. You can usually point a UHF ant UP at a single tower and pull in a specific one if they want. who do you work for?

You are not properly grounded. these problems will continue to occur untill your cables are properly bonded back to the main common ground at your electrical service disconect. trust me.

    Vip211 digital audio distortion problems?

Nope, they do DD and PCM. theyve come a long ways...still tinee sounding but... No ive been thru all those settings on the 211, rf mode & line mode (those only give preference to voice or effect) DD & PCM, DD only PCM only. No distortion via composite audio, only thru digital. And E*...

Stupidest thing a E* Tech has ever told you?

Nope, copper is not copper. it has varying degrees of impurities that with out a doubt affect overall picture quality. I do alot of high end home theater installations and frankly i prefer a good old component video connection over DVI/HDMI any day. Without doing serious recalibration of the...

    Vip211 digital audio distortion problems?

I have a BOSE customer that has a bunch of distortion from the digital audio output on the 211 IRD. No problem with analog (other then poor dynamic range) or any other components (ie hook up external DVD to BOSE lifestyle 48 via fiber optic and no issues) Anyone else experience any issues...

Whats the point of 3Ghz groundblocks/ wall plates if not using 3 gig coax?

exactly my point, but requiring only the connectors to be 3Ghz and not the coax "that dont make no sence" (think oh brother where ar't thou)...unless of course its just about the quality of the connection made as pointed out by mike above....but i digress

Whats the point of 3Ghz groundblocks/ wall plates if not using 3 gig coax?

Well now that you lay it out like that it makes sence. Im however NOT an EE, so you mite see my confusion. Im asuming noone else new either, because you were the 1st to chime in with a REAL ANSWER...thanks, makes sence now.

Whats the point of 3Ghz groundblocks/ wall plates if not using 3 gig coax?

youre not following at all. It is a REQUIREMENT per E* that ALL coaxial ground blocks, barrel fittings, di-plexers etc be rated for 3Ghz (yano the blue plastic inserts)...which is pointless if you are only running 2150Mhz coax.

Whats the point of 3Ghz groundblocks/ wall plates if not using 3 gig coax?

No, the new requirements by dish and i thing D* that all ground blocks, barrels in wallplates and diplexers be rated at 3 gig but no requirement on coax...it doesnt make any sence. yeah 3 gig coax is available...and expensive at aound 54 bucks per K'. one would think they would want some congruity.
