    Recordings being cut off

Nope, no OTA adapter on there. We've had cases when the signal gets lost, and a message usually pops up during the recording that part of the recording was lost, but it just skips ahead. Maybe I'll pursue a new hopper in the fall, don't watch that much tv over the summer.

    Recordings being cut off

So this happened again on an episode of Castle recorded on 4/27/15 Hopper recorded only 5 minutes of the show. I checked another show I had recorded at that time, NCIS LA, and it also was only about 5 minutes long. We had no bad weather that night, and even if we did, wouldn't we only lose a...

    Recordings being cut off

Not sure of my current signal strength, but we rarely have trouble except during bad storms, we haven't had any recently. And the picture is perfect right up until the recording ends, usually you'd see a few small skips or something in there. As far as skipping back/forward, none of that...

    Recordings being cut off

I have the original Hopper with the external Sling adapter, and 2 joeys. I'm in the Philly market and use PTAT for all 7 days, and have done so since day 1 of my hopper. For the past several months I've been noticing more and more of my shows seem to have the recordings messed up. At first I...

Is HIC free of charge during install?

Thanks guys. I PM'd DIRT via Mary yesterday. Hasn't got back to me yet, but given their reputation on here I'm sure it will get resolved. I might have caught her towards the end of the shift. The installer was going to install a wireless adapter on the hopper, and maybe I should have just...

Is HIC free of charge during install?

How do I know who to contact? Or who is available?

Is HIC free of charge during install?

I had a hopper and 2 joeys installed today (upgrade from a single 622). The installer did not have a HIC with him. In fact, he didn't know what it was. Didn't instill the most confidence with me! He was confusing Sling, HIC, and the Powerline adapters. He was going to install a wireless...

    Where to put Hopper/Joeys

Thanks guys. Looks like I'll just put a Joey at my main TV, and the hopper at one of the older TV's. Does anyone know if the hopper can output a 480i signal over the component jacks? And is there component as well as a composite output? I might be able to get away with not modulating but...

    Where to put Hopper/Joeys

Am getting a 1h/2j system installed tomorrow to replace my 622 receiver. I have 2 HD tvs that I want to have independent viewing, and two other older tvs that are watched infrequently and I plan to mirror with a modulator My Question is about where to place the hopper. Would it matter if I...

Should I use DISH to move? (a real move)

Sounds like it doesn't make much difference if I use the movers program and the dish it up promo vs a new customer promo. What are the eastern arc sats so I can use dishpointer to see if anything is in my way.... there are quite a few trees around.

Should I use DISH to move? (a real move)

So, I am moving from the Johnstown/Altoona DMA (110/119/129) to the Philly market (?/?/?). Should I have Dish move me, or simply move my dishes myself? I currently have 2 dishes, one for 110/119, and one for 129. The buyers of my house want me to take down the dishes, so I have to move them...

Adding a leased reciever, fees question

That is great news. The lack of the $6 'nuisance' fee will certainly help push me towards the HD ranks. Thanks for the help.

Adding a leased reciever, fees question

Now I remember why I liked the 721 so much... no fees! But, what if I went with the DVR Advantage pack, with the HD pack, if my 721 is the first receiver, and the 622 is second, would my bill be like this: $49.99 DVR Advantage pack $6.00 Lease Fee $20 HD pack So, my bill goes from...

Adding a leased reciever, fees question

I've been a Dish customer for a few years, with SD service. I currently have just one receiver on my account, which is owned, a 721 (I love that receiver by the way) I will soon, hopefully, be diving into the HD world. I wanted to take advantage of the 622 upgrade promotion, but I have a...

Adding a 2nd HDTV, shocked at the price, what are my options....

Another possibility is to use the Cat 5 cables to transmit the A/V I don't presonally have any experience with this, but have used similar for standard, non-hd audio video: http://www.svideo.com/ypbpr3.html Looks like a great solution for those of us with Cat 5 everywhere in the house...
