As far as the original post. I've been a DTV user for 6 years and I've never had an issue, I've even been happy with my support calls! Count me as one that could care less about Travel or Fox News in HD, but I'm probably in the minority. I'll be happy when they are, but I'm not losing sleep...

I agree. I've re-upped so many times -- I don't care. I'm gonna be staying with D*, so what do I care if I get 2 years added to my commitment? People really do make a bigger deal out of this than is necessary :)

What kind of Video in does the DVDR have? If you have S-Video in, you could still do it by running s-video out from the DVR to the DVDR.

I already had two HD DVR's and replaced our last SD DVR a week or so ago. They shipped it to us, so they do ship them. But, Jason is right -- you'll need a new dish for the new HD DVR. I'd just be patient and let them come do their job :)

Our luck with D* installs has ALWAYS been good. They show up when promised and complete the work quickly. Sometimes the dates are 1 week to 10 days off, but they've shown when promised.
