    Since they fixed the 8mm affect a couple months ago I have not had one problem. As of now I'm very pleased with Directv. I can't wait for moe Hd.:hungry:

    My HD DNS channels disappeared...

    I lost mine a week and a half ago. Called D* and they told me everyone was going to loose them if there locals are provided in HD by D*. I not happy about it at all. I always thought it was a neat perk. They told me that it is a staggered shut off. :mad:

    I watched a few minutes here and there in between commercials of lost. Unlike nesn I did'nt notice a 8mm effect. I hope they fix those problems soon.

    I've had mine since first week of sept. I have not had to reboot one time. My dolby digital 5.1 , caller id has worked flawlessly since day one. My one problem is recording mpeg locals, especially 1080 signal's. In a word (unwatchable) which is a bummer because I would like to record Bruins...

    They are leased. You can install yourself if you buy it from BB , CC etc. If you get from D* they will install. If you buy from BB , CC etc. You'll need to ask for credits to off set your cost. They may be money credits or programing credits or both. Good Luck!

    how good is the service

    I've had both and I know I'm gonna disappoint the legion of Dish fans but, to me anyway Directv is like BMW and Dish is Kia. Especially when it comes to equipment and customer service. I truly believe that someday soon Directv will be the HD leader.:rolleyes:

    As recently as a month ago I bought a used Rca dtc 200 Hd receiver with an old card and I was not required to purchase a new card. Either way no big deal if they credit you anyhow. I've also bought some from craigslist and been given some from former subs. Been lucky , I guess
