i moved it to the wall. just don't want to leave it there. Dish is going to replace my STB. I would like to keep it on the UPS to protect it from lightning.
the rescan may have been what triggered it. We have been having bad storms through GA lately and i lost sat signal for an entire evening. my receiver did a system reboot and that maybe when it started grabbing local info.
yea i'm sure. i still pay $65 instead of the $70 which is w/ the locals. Dish said they were giving everyone locals "for free" but they just upped all the packages by $5 to cover it.
I just noticed that I'm now getting my local channels guide info. I do not pay for locals and my package is the 250 from before the locals were included. I'm definitely not going complaining just curious if Dish is in a giving mood. ;-)
Now I'm DEFINITELY not complaining, but I thought with this FOX-Dish dispute the CI fox sports games wouldn't be in HD. I'm watching the PENS-LEAFS on FSN HD through CI now.
pretty sure your problem is you are viewing an HD program on a SD output. When doing that the receiver sends out the signal in letterbox format. Have you tried setting the "HD" channels to zoom on your receiver and the SD channels to stretch (i think that's the setting).
yep, i had the same problem. i got in touch with tech support. did they same hoop jumping you did, except the guy i was talking to said he had another person chatting with the same problem. he said he was going to forward the information i gave him about the problem to engineering. they...
it's possible on DirectTV the game is in HD. My brother has Direct and he gets the Canadian feeds in HD through CI. It's a Dish issue with Center Ice and the Canadian feeds.
Hidefrev,
are you on Western Arc? I live in Warner Robins, and have issues with rain fade. It mostly happens if a bad storm is southwest of me a few miles. And I've noticed it doesn't have to be a bad storm but a LARGE rain cloud to my southwest.
