    New install question

A ground block is acceptable?LOL What about a barrel connector? Or better yet, leave solid cable unless it is ABSOLUTLEY nescessary to snip it.Why not take one of the home runs temporarily off the LNB,use a jumper to re aim, tighten the dish down, and put the home run back. What??An extra 2 or 3...

    32 Receivers on New Install

Having 2(or 3 if needed for DVR)antenna's with SWM 16 would be the easiest, cheapest most practical way to achieve a 32 reciever set up. Also think about locating the dishes on each side and one in middle, how much that will shorten cable runs. Having 48 ports ensures enough to accomodate all...

    Correct DECA Diagram?

The diagram on the left was some what helpful.Do I need the two way at the network connection with a SWS8?Will connecting the internet coax directly to the SWS8 without the two way work?Im thinking the diagram is like that because there is a 4 way splitter and no extra ports for the internet?

    FLAT RG6 FOR SWM

Gentlemen, thanks for all the info. I thought quad sheild coax was only to be used with SWM.I watched some factory DTV training videos on you tube and they mentioned that.I also heard others mention it. I was also told that if I were to use a flat jumper,it should have a 3ghz rating for SWM. If...

    Satellite Question ?

Usually, people will get a newer dish, and the older, obselete one just gets left in place. It looks "wing",but its really abondened. I haven't heard of a multi dish system since Dish Network used to use 61.5. If there are others, please let me know, just so I can increase my knowledge.

    99 103 101 DIRECTV SATELLITE COMBINER

Unless you are setting up community dishes for a large multiple dwelling apartment/condo,it would be a waste of time and money to do anything other can get a Slimline 3 dish. If you are setting up a common community dish(es),there is(or at least was)equipment available that would combine...

Will a bucket filled with cement work for the slimline dish?

Yes,it will work fine as long as you keep it low profile. In other words, keep the pole as short and close to the bucket as possible.

direct tv - satellite signal lost

If you have a SWM system or a Zimwell switch, make sure they are plugged in. Im assuming you went to the antenna since you stated markings were in same place.Did you look at the LNBF?It may have been struck by lightning. If it was you can tell just by looking at it.It will look...

    FLAT RG6 FOR SWM

I will soon be moving, and the only option I have for my slimline3 SWM is to put it on the balcony.I know I can manage getting it aimed and secured, but Im worried about getting the coax from the LNB into the apartment without making a hole if possible. I know of and seen the "flat" rg6 jumpers...

    Newbie Install

Make sure that you have a direct line from dish to reciever,no cable splitters.Get a philips screwdriver and take the lnb off the dish and replace the f connector.Do the same inside.Make sure your aiming the azimuth in the correct general area.Set the elevation and make sure mast is as plumb as...

    Lost channels after snow.

Most likely you have a problem with the installation, odds increase especially if you have alot of outside coaxial cable exposed. The dish may have moved in all the weather.Rock it back and forth "gently"and see if it's sturdy. Also, poorly crimped f connectors get water in them and this causes...

Possible to have DirecTV and Comcast in same house?

You can use one line to share cable and sat using two individual diplexers or a multi switch and one individual diplexer per line. For a mutli switch with built in diplexer(the port is usually labled uhf/vhf or cable/ant)take the cable input from the pole and connect it to this port.Use a single...
