This doesn't help you but since 500, I've had the black screens and the reset/reboot. No problems with segmented recordings.

I've had that happen and found if I rewind from the end it usually works. It seams some pointer gets corrupted.

I've been experimenting with a second EHD and have experienced system lockups/crash. I've figured out that it happens within hours of removing the drive, not connecting it. I have been disconnecting by turning the system off and unplugging the drives USB cable. Any ideas of a different...
