To wait for new hd dvr, or not?

There are no solid specs out on the new DVR yet, just speculation... If you have OTA covered, go with the HR10-250, it's worth the upgrade. There should be some upgrade path to the HR20 when it finally shows up also.

Phase III plus separate 110 dish

The Sat C kit inserts the 110 feed in with one of the 119 feeds before it goes into the switch on a Phase II dish. Not sure if there would be issues with the current 110 LNB and the added on one conflicting with one another if you used the kit with a Phase III dish. The external switch would...

upgrading to h20 from mpeg 2 box ?

The standard upgrade rate for the AT-9 and an H20 is $99 though people have managed to get them to drop the cost after playing CSR roulette.

Can someone give me a play by play (installation)?

Sounds like you have a 3x4 multiswitch in the basement with which I assume is an OTA antenna or cable diplexed in. You should have two lines already coming down to the exisiting switch from the dish which you wouldn't need to do anything with. You just need to swap out the switch with a 3x8 to...

Receiving HD in LOS ANGELES w/ DirectTV box and TV (Terk-Audiovox) 44 antena

Thanks for the clarification, I've never hooked up an SD receiver to my HD set via coax, didn't know it would pass it through.

Receiving HD in LOS ANGELES w/ DirectTV box and TV (Terk-Audiovox) 44 antena

    1) No, you need a better antenna you can aim as it's been stated about 5 times now. If it's possible, I'd suggest running seperate cabling for the antenna also instead of using diplexors. Also, the OTA tuner won't work on the H20 until it's activated. 2) Your list of available local channels...

Receiving HD in LOS ANGELES w/ DirectTV box and TV (Terk-Audiovox) 44 antena

The KE-42TS2U has an ATSC tuner built in, try hooking the antenna output from the diplexor directly to the antenna in on the TV. The SD Directv receiver you are using doesn't have an ATSC tuner nor does it pass the signal through to the TV. If you don't get anything after you try that, move on...

    DirecTV, Stand-Alone TiVo And KA

Honestly I don't know if such a beast exists, I was hoping someone else would step in. Basically you need to prevent the DC voltage coming out of the power supply for the preamp from heading up the second line you want to split off. You're probably going to need to split the line somewhere...

    DirecTV, Stand-Alone TiVo And KA

    1) Technically it should work with the AT-9 because the SD receiver will never request the frequencies from the dish that would step on your OTA reception... 2) You'd need a splitter that would block the power from the pre-amp power supply from heading up to your diplexor at the multiswitch.

    10 outputs on At-9

Directv isn't planning on KA broadcasts from the 101 location. Directv 10 and 11 are going in the 99 and 103 slots. To put a KA sat in the 101 location would require starting over again with a new dish also.

    AT9 - Slimline ?

You use enough concrete on the pole, it's not going to move.
