    4D 920 Upgrade

Can you replace the battery while it's still plugged in? If you can, I would think you could completely remove the old battery and then soldering in the new battery without loosing the I.D. number.

OpenBox Died. Now what do I do?

All hooked up and all is functioning normally. Starting my initial scan. Thanks for the help everyone. Right off, I notice it's scanning slower than the OpenBox, but makes no difference to me.

OpenBox Died. Now what do I do?

I have a couple splitters from my aerial antenna. One says 5-600 MHZ. I also have a couple more from cable TV from a house I demolished 3 years ago but they have no writing on them. Or should I just go to Radio Shack and get what I need? What MHZ am I looking for?

OpenBox Died. Now what do I do?

I want to be able to watch H2H programming and keep the ability to move the dish with my 922 while at the same time, be able to switch my TV to the desired output and be able to watch the MicroHD. I have a LNB and watch only C-Band, I'm not set up for KU. The 922 would also control the...

OpenBox Died. Now what do I do?

10 minutes later and I'm stumped. How do I use the Microhd with the 922? I need the 922 to move the dish. I'm sure this topic has been discussed a thousand times so I am going to research it, but if someone wants to chime in, Ill listen.

OpenBox Died. Now what do I do?

I'm not sorry I bought the OpenBox, and I knew at the time there were fixes, I chose not to. I guess saying I wouldn't have another one is kinda harsh, I mean I had a lot of fun with it and it did produce a beautiful picture. I might still try loading the latest firmware and see what happens...

OpenBox Died. Now what do I do?

Although the OpenBox S-9 did OK for me, it was also kind of quirky. The picture was good but right from the start, it had a green hue on composite output and my TV I had at the time was from the 80's and only had composite in. Then my gf moved in and she had a high def plasma. So I was able...

OpenBox Died. Now what do I do?

Interesting. Maybe a new series of 8000's have come out. The particular one I'm looking at is the UN60F8000 which is supposed to be Samsung's Flagship TV of 2013. But I did read some articles that the 8000 series was discontinued. I wonder if there's a difference between 8000 and UNF8000.

Thanks cyberham. I'll do some more research on the 8000 series. Either way, that's an awesome TV.

OpenBox Died. Now what do I do?

Nope. Didn't know that. But when you say hard disk, is that the same as a flash drive? And I'm in the market to get a smart tv, the Samsung 8000 series to be exact. Would I be able to play it back on that, I wonder, since the 8000 series can suposably surf the internet and play video files about...

OpenBox Died. Now what do I do?

I just ordered the MicroHD. It should be here Friday. There's definitely not many new ones to choose from these days.

OpenBox Died. Now what do I do?

I could try that but I'm not overly knowledgeable in that department. I didn't even know what a serial port was until I Googled it. I take it I would have to buy a cable then download the firmware to my computer, then using the cable, upload it to the OpenBox. This is a decision I'll have to...

OpenBox Died. Now what do I do?

Thanks everyone. Sorry, I know there are tons of posts but wanted a quick response to the best of them. And I may have found it but it doesn't support 4:2:2. I know my OpenBox didn't either but was thinking it would be nice to have 4:2:2 but there seems to be only one 4:2:2 channel that I'm...
