I can't stand this either. We came from D* with Tivo, and the Tivo seemed smart enough to know to change the channel when the show was scheduled to start. Apparently this DVR is not that smart. Also, I HATE not having 2 live tuners to switch back and forth to.

Thats exactly what has me on the fence right now, and its the additional 2 year commitment. When I "negoitated" my upgrade to the HR20, I was able to get them down to $99, plus $10/month credit for a year, and four months free of HD content ($9.95/month). So, I guess net-net, I come out ahead...

I haven't been hooked up yet. TV comes on Friday, D* install comes on tuesday 4/3. I just checked the Fios web site. For my area, Northern NJ, SNY is not listed in HD, but in the New York area, it is, maybe a phone call is warranted.
