    ESPN2HD? C'mon Dish!

I have to say I tend to agree about ESPN2, they can't even come CLOSE to filling ESPNHD with REAL HD programming, IMO, it's just a gimmick that they're even launching ESPN2HD. What a crock. --Matt

I cancelled my HD package today

no, they're doing 3 HD AND 6 SD on the same transponder. not *just* 6 SD. --Matt

Off by turning it off with the remote? I'll try that when I go to bed tonight. --Matt

    Dish 811 - P284 Update

I have 282 and I can't seem to get mine to download 284. I've tried holding down the power button to recylce it and turning it off for a half hour via the remote. Do I need to unplug it for a while or something? --Matt

pq on dish seems to be better

I've been very happy with my PQ, both SD and HD since I got my 811 earlier this week. I really don't see how anyone could complain about the 811's SD picture quality. I find it incredibly clear coming out of the DVI and/or Component outputs. I just leave mine in 1080i all the time. I...

    FLASH: No Name Based Recording on 921, 721, 501, 508, 510

And this is why I still have my old Standalone Tivo hooked up to my 322. Might be a bit of cabling and a little more expensive, but it works. --Matt

Question about current E* cust wanting to updrade to HDTV

I have an 811 and a 322. 811 is in the living room with my samsung hdtv, with a $5 a month charge. My 322 is in the bedroom driving my bedroom tv and the 2nd tuner is backfeeding to all the other rooms, it's my 'original' receiver and there is no monthly charge associated with that one. --Matt

Question about current E* cust wanting to updrade to HDTV

Call DISH, because I have only been a customer for 6 months, but I bought my HDTV after I signed up and recently decided to get an 811. Through ceo@dishnetwork.com I am getting an 811 added to my account for no upfront cost, $5 a month fee for the box and HD Pack for $5 a month for 12 months...

    811 Aspect Ratio Control

I have a widescreen (16:9) Samsung HDTV, and I'm thinking of getting an 811. I was just wondering how it handles different aspect ratios. My TV can do different things with 4:3 broadcasts, but how does the 811 handle them? If you're watching an SD channel through the DVI or Component...

DHA Buyer Beware of 3rd Party Agreements

I honestly don't care what the retailer's financial arrangement with E* is, it shouldn't affect the customer if E* chooses to set up a system that isn't SUPPOSED to have a committment. Obviously if I'd have known that there was a committment with this deal I'd have either done the Free Dish...

DHA Buyer Beware of 3rd Party Agreements

My installer flat out lied to me, and shame on me for not reading EVERYTHING in the 'installation agreement' I am under a DHA agreement with E* with a single 322 and I was toying with the idea of switching to D* now that they offer locals. I've only had the E* service for 6 months. Well, I...

    311 and Tivo

It usually takes Tivo like 2 weeks or so to get the guide data for NEW local areas. As long as your local channels have been avail. on DISH for longer than that, you'll be fine. --Matt

    311 and Tivo

I'm using my Standalone Series 2 with my 322 and it works just fine. I have the S-Video from the 322 going into the Tivo, and the Tivo controls the 322 via IR blaster. The absolute best source of info for Tivo, including detailed instructions for how to get it to work with ANY satellite or...

Took down my SuperDISH today, prepping for Ivan.

And that's why it's sitting in my dining room right now, instead of on the roof. That mutha looks way bigger on the floor than it does on the roof too. --Matt
