The receiver doesn't respond to IR for TV2 though, that's the issue. TV2 can only be controlled over RF. That's the other way around, being able to use an RF remote for a receiver that only understands IR.

Darn, thanks for checking though! I think that's the only way to find one, if someone just has it sitting around somewhere. I'd definitely make it worth your while if anyone has it!

Hi, I'm trying to track down a TV 2 IR Converter Kit for my vip222k but it seems they're not sold anywhere anymore. I contacted Dish and they said they don't have it and suggested ebay, which also brought up nothing. Anyone have a lead on where to buy one? Thanks

In the hopes that they could forward it on to pertinent technical staff who might be in a position to have the issue looked into. Of course it's not in the channel's control, but they could escalate it up the chain. Doesn't hurt. :)

I think the original VS2000 would be using the Platinum firmware... iceberg, correct if needed. :)

just plug in your harmony remote to your computer and run the software and choose the option to add a new device, you'll see Viewsat in there as an option and it will download the codes into your remote.

Yep, I experimented with this and found that the proper focal point for a rectangular tube LNB was indeed to just have the LNB sit at the end of the arm. Just feed two cables up the support arm, and you have a dual LNB solution that looks great. :) Not too bad at pulling in signal either.

so the deal with folks like Globecast forcing their boxes down your throat... do they program the card such that it won't work unless inserted into a specific receiver? because it seems quite a few receivers claim to support Conax, Nagravision, etc.. so why wouldn't an active card work when...

I wish the subscription services would let you use your own receiver instead of forcing you to use their box :( I think in Europe they let you do that.. but not in our neck of the woods!

I want to win! Time to set up a motorized dish and the Invacom will do perfectly :)
