Sounds like you have another issue if the signal is randomly dropping on a clear day. I live in Raleigh, if you were closer I would offer to take a look. Just call dish, add the DHPP if you don't already have it.

They are terrible. I had a customer in Durham who I had replaced her 222 3 times in 2 weeks before I told her flat out to call Dish and insist on either a 211 or a 722. She got them to build the work order and I replaced her with a 211 the same day.

You're in ohio, so your trees probably don't have leaves this time of year right? If this just started happening it's very likely the alignment of the dish. Your best bet is to call Dish to schedule a service, or you can try to realign it yourself.

So you already have a dish in the back of the house, and it's grounded? What do you plan on using for switches and LNB's? If you put up a Dish500/300 with a DPDual for 61.5 out front and run a single coax with 17awg messenger from that to your existing Dish with a DPP Twin LNB you will be fine.
