As a DirecTV sub, please forgive my ignorance, but why are so many RSNs on Dish not in full time HD? Is it a bandwidth issue or something else? Almost all RSNs on D* are in HD full time.

Thanks for the info Ice, I have the SWM setup so I should be good to go...for some reason I thought the genie was available only to new subs, but now that it is available to current subs, maybe I'll upgrade.

I think the MLB package is, and always has been, for live games, and I think MLB requires all recorded or reaired games on the RSNs to be blacked out. I don't think I've ever seen any replayed games in the clear on any of the RSNs except my local one.

DirecTV had the Masters in 3D but I wasn't impressed with it. Only the lead golfer in the shot looked at all in 3D and not much else. May have been my TV but I just tuned to my regular CBS affiliate and watched it in 2D.

Is the genie available now to current subs or still only available to new subs? And what would be involved to switch from two HR24 units to the genie? Would it involve any additional wiring? We are thinking about switching to the genie (when available) and would just like to know the...

It's happening again tonight. The Yankees are on My9 but the My9 feed is not in the MLB Extra Innings package. I am pretty much convinced now that DirecTV does not have the rights to show the My9 feed and this is the way it will be for the foreseeable future.

Is it possible that DirecTV no longer has the rights to show the My 9 feed? The past three seasons they showed the My 9 feeds from the beginning of the season despite all of the NBA and NHL games going on, so bandwidth may not be the issue. Haven't seen much of the Phillies feeds this year either.

What's the point of the update telling you that you are authorized for something you are not? Is D* just trying to get more subs to sign up for the whole home, or is it truly just a mistake on their part?

DirecTV also has a better HD picture when compared to Verizon Fios here in the Boston area. My brother in law has Fios and when I tried to watch a Red Sox game on NESN, there was a lot of pixelation when the camera moved; I almost never see that on D*. Other stations were similar in quality...

Unbelievable, maybe we should all threaten to drop D* so we can cash in on the savings! I mean free Sunday Ticket? I guess I'm the only one who's been paying full price for Sunday Ticket for the past decade (I know it isn't true but it just seems that way!).
