Couldn't have said that better myself. This is exactly what I'm hoping for as well. Small steps toward that are nice, but this is what I'd have in mind for "seamless integration." Will be interesting to see if 1.) this is what Dish has in mind as well and 2.) if they can actually pull it off.

For whatever it's worth, I rip my daughter's DVDs and use Handbrake to convert them to the m4v format, which I then rename to mp4 for compatibility with the Hopper. Doesn't seem to recognize them otherwise.

Just thought I'd add that my wife was a little less than pleased with our new Hopper setup (just converted from cable) when the two final episodes of "Smash" disappeared. Software version S212. Very stable otherwise.
