Problems getting RTN on AMC9 (KU)

Larry, I don't have that bird in any list on the viewsat. I actually have to "add new satellite" and then name it. I did a factory default, still no list. I only show 3 birds, 2 US, 1 Canadian. Dont need any of them. Tonight I will swing the dish further south. Guaranteed I am on 91 and not 82...

Problems getting RTN on AMC9 (KU)

Larry, I think I am aimed wrong. I changed the LO value (to 10750 I think) and it found channels, Nimiq 1 channels, so I must be pointed in the slightly wrong direction. Nimiq 1 is at 91 degrees, AMC9 at 83, so I am a few off the mark. I will have to try tomorrow night to turn it a bit further...

Problems getting RTN on AMC9 (KU)

Larry, maybe I have my initial antenna settings wrong. Its been so long I forget. I have the LNB type set to standard, then there is a frequency it needs, so should I put that up at 11.7 ( think its 11.250, but I have to check?) I have a strong signal, s meter is at 80 or over, but no channels...

Problems getting RTN on AMC9 (KU)

My settings for the RTV TP are ok, I just have no signal, and I cannot remember how I dialled it in. I remember last year getting the NBC color bars, then just adding the RTV TP info, and poof, it was there.

Problems getting RTN on AMC9 (KU)

Guys, Last October I had to remove all my dishes for a new roof. I have a good sub, so the FTA stayed down until now, as I read that RTV (or RTN) has changed their programming, and have a couple of good shows I have not seen in a while Equipment is a Viewsat extreme, and a 1 meter (39 inch...

"the list" - how current is it?

Hi guys, I have a 36" dish pointed at AMC 9 and a sub on expressvu. RTN is great, however, I have 2 questions: If I get a motor for my 36", does the dish move both horizontally and vertically? Is there anything left up there in English (besides religious) to watch? ANd how current is "the...

    RTN Gone on AMC9?

I had RTN coming in fine at 530pm eastern and now at 9pm - poof - zero signal. Are they "off the air"? Sky here is clear. Very weird. Thanks IAn R.

    RTN & AMC 9

As far as signal strength is concerned, I get RTN between 25 and 35 SQ on my viewsat extreme. 25 in clouds. 35 on a clear day. Thats on a fixed 90CM (36 inch) dish. If I went to a 1.2M dish, would I get any better signal? 45? 50? Has anyone done this and made a comparison?

    larger dish and/or motor

Hi guys, I have some good success with my 90CM (36 inch) dish receiving RTN on AMC9. TOday we had heavy rain, and it faded out, but so did my Expressvu dish. After the rain stopped, the RTN came back. It wavers between 25 and 30 on the quality meter on my Viewsat Extreme. I was wondering...

RTN RTN East and West are on AMC9 at 83 degrees west Scroll down a bit in the forums - there is a good discussion on how to tune it in. It took me a couple hours - works ok Have fun Ian R.

    RTN & AMC 9

On the topic of noisy neighbours A few years ago, in the summer, windows closed, AC on etc in the house, these people 2 houses down had a whiz bang blowout shin-dig. I knew there was going to be trouble when they pulled out the kiddie pool full of ice and beer. Well after 11 PM the windows...

    RTN & AMC 9

Success with RTV KAH-PLAH! (Thats Klingon for Success - i know - get a life LOL) I picked up a 90CM dish and LNB combon on wednesday and installed it last night. CLear shot to most of the western sky from my roof. Using the old calibrated eyeball, I turned the antenna slightly east from the...
