I am considering switching to comcast from Dish when I move but I would like to know if they have any HD boxes capable of receiving over the air HD. I would really hate to lose that ability. Thanks

I have done a search in this forum and haven't found this exact problem mentioned so here goes. I have had my 811 for a few months and it has worked pretty well for the most part. Last week though, I lost sound from some of my channels, most notably the HD channels and some of the pay chennels...

thanks, but I have the reader. Unfortunately its not working correctly and downloading it again doesn't fix the problem. Some pdfs work, some don't and I'm not enough of a computer guy to figure it out so I'm hoping someone will just give me the info some other way.

I have a pronto remote that I would like to use to control my 811 but I can't get it to recognize any of the buttons. Is this because the remote doesn't output any infrared signals to the 811, only UHF ones? Is there a work-around for this? I tried to access the sticky about the 811 remote...

The guide on my 811 is having some issues. For example, it is showing "college basketball" on HNN and some NBA game on HDnet. Obviously those are wrong, so I was wondering if anyone else's guide has been screwed up today. Thanks

I don't need the Viacom channels, I say screw 'em. Drop em and get some MORE HD CONTENT!! I can live without freakin MTV garbage. I couldn't agree more! More HD!!

I'm going to write the CEO in support of Dish. If you don't want a whole lot more crappy channels like Bingo, Dish needs to come out on top concerning this issue. Could you imagine if every company demanded that Dish carry everything they offered in order to get the popular channels? We'd be...

No way would I leave. I think that Dish is right this time. I'd rather lose a few channels than see viacom get away with what they are trying to do. After all, if Dish were forced to carry all of the crappy channels that every company has, where would the bandwidth for HD come from?

Why doesn't dish put CBS HD on the 110 satellite along with the other HD channels and make everyone's life a little easier, especially with all the problems with the 811 not picking up 148?

Darn, I'm in the spokane locals area so I guess no free 2nd dish for me. I do have Dishpro LNBs so maybe I should just wait for a fix to the problem before I get carried away.
