When I turn on microwave, oven, or garage door opener I lose all even transponders!!! What is causing this???

I have two Universal RF-10 remotes with two MRF-100b RF receiver/transmitters. Question: How do I keep these remotes from controlling components in other rooms? I have DTV receivers and samsung TV's in both rooms and I dont know if there is a way to change freq. on one of these remotes?
