Here's what I've got... have a living room that needs 5.1 surround, a bedroom that needs one ceiling mount speaker with volume control, and an outside patio with two weather proof speakers and volume control. Anybody know of a receiver that will let me feed all these speakers with the ability to... for instance watch dvd in the living room w/surround sound and send some music to the other speakers at the same time?? Anyone...

There's plenty of dual-zone receivers, but it almost sounds like the OP is looking for a triple-zone receiver, if I'm reading his post correctly. A receiver that supports dual-zone could be wired to output zone 2 to both the bedroom and patio speakers at the same time, but then you would have to have music playing at the same volume in both secondary locations.
Or, you could leave the bedroom out of the mix, get a standard 2 zone receiver, then pick up an inexpensive stereo receiver for the bedroom (This one from Onkyo can be had for less than $100.
If I was spending the money, that's how I'd do it ;)

I can't give you a model number, but check Crutchfield.com, there are some on their site.
