Hi all, for some reason I'm having an extremely weird problem. I just recently got a new 32" LG TV....for some reason when the TV is on, the remote does not respond to any commands directed to the receiver...when the TV is off, the remote works fine (light blinks when buttons are pressed)...

I figured I'd just throw the second ? in there....thanks for the reply! What should I do about the first issue?

Well, had the installer come out today and install the 2nd dish for my locals. I'm telling you I called DTV 3 times to confirm this and they said ALL of my receivers would be swapped out so I could view the local channels (I have the standard D12, non mpeg 4 compatible)...The installer gets here...

Ah, ok. Thanks for clearing that up for me Iceberg :) I'll mention this to the DTV rep when they become available. So I'm assuming I'll get all of those free with no upgrade cost(or contract extension). Hopefully.

Well I thought it said you needed the HD Access.....so I'm not sure at all I called DTV and they were no help either. I went to a retail store and they were telling me it was a contract extension plus the 10 dollar fee.... Don't really know who to listen to haha

I'm in the Gulfport-Biloxi market..... So that means I have to extend my contract for 2 years + the 10 dollar HD access fee per month?

How did you find out the release date for your locals? Also, I currently just have the Standard receivers and my locals are only available in HD....Do I need to upgrade my equipment, and does that mean a contract extension?

Do you already have everything necessary for the local channels?

Sounds like a big headache, I'm in the Gulfport-Biloxi DMA and was told we are only getting ABC and Fox...What about CBS and NBC? Gotta pay extra for those? Sounds like it's not even worth it for just 2 channels...

So I have a few questions regarding this: 1) My contract ended 2 years ago, and I have all standard receivers, so I have to upgrade all my receivers to receive local channels? Which adds me to another 2 year commitment? 2) What kind of dish is needed, I currently have th DirecTV World Direct...

Soudns good. So when should I call and ask about getting a new receiver? Do I need a new dish also? I currently have the worldirect dish (idk what kind that is?) I hope this doesn't cost alot of money lol

Ah, well by HD locals I thought they are only broadcast in HD?? So when June rolls around and my locals become available, I can get all new receivers to view them at no cost? and don't have to pay for HD? Do I just call DTV up about this or what

Wow that is lame, so by replacement equipment that means contact extension and an additional 5 dollars for HD service?
