KC5FRR here, I have not done much in the way of sat work (and the sat work that I did was about 10 years ago). I have spoken to one of the ops on the shuttle (although it was only enough to verify callsigns and little else). Other than that I mainy play on the repeaters.

Tech Plus.... Got original ticket in 91... Had General Written passed once (when it was 13 WPM)..... So, prob will try to advance one day... Active on 6M SSB, 220, and ATV..

Hi Ham fans

Would you recommend we exhibit at next years Hamfest in Dayton OHIO? We are only an 1 1/2 hr away.

Should we be indoor or outdoor? What would you like us bring over there?
I am thinking large size KU (100cm and 120cm dishes )and C band dishes would be good for the buyers to save money on shipping.

Your suggestions and comments are welcome.
 
I have never been, but I hear it is "the" show! I would say take gear that would be used for satellite coms (not sure what all is involved), and take some FTA setups, as we are all tech nerds :)

LONG-DELAY RADIO ECHOES: During the geomagnetic storm of Nov. 27th, a brief but intense G2-class event, amateur radio operator Peter Brogl of Fürth, Germany, experienced a strange phenomenon. Forty-six seconds after he transmitted his call sign at 7 MHz, he received an echo of his own transmission. "At first, I thought someone was playing tricks on me," says Brogl, "but I changed frequency, re-keyed my call sign (DK6NP), and got another echo." This went on for more than an hour, enough time for Brogl to make several recordings. First reported in 1927 by Norwegian civil engineer Jørgen Hals, long-delay radio echoes are rare and poorly understood.

Hello, KB0QHN, Craig in Missouri. Worked the space shuttle once and even the goodyear blimp when one of the pilots had a 2 meter rig in there with him. 73's
