Woke up this morning to the rune of -1800 in checking. I dont know what to do. For the love of God my wife has a brain tumor asnd i know th ey were aware. Yet they still did it. Im lost

Best be on the phone with the bank, not posting in a online forum that can do nothing to help, I would think.

If this happened to me, I'd immediately log into my on-line account and see where the money went. Then I'd dispute any fraudulent charges.

Sadly these things are usually very hard to trace back to anyone, unless it is someone local that got a card number like a restaurant employee, family member, things like that (not saying anything by that).
The fraud over the internet is much harder.

The key first steps lye in what kind of charge wiped your account. Is it a bounced check deposit, an ACH that pulled from your account, fraud, check, debit/credit card, etc. That will steer you to the right place at your bank. If the frontline doesn't know how to help call their main number and ask for the loss prevention department. You will likely need to complete an affidavit. If there is no branch in your are they may even make it be notarized. In some cases they may require a police report. Most banks will give a provisional credit once you get them those things while things get finalized which can take a while if it was a credit/debit card fraud.

They'll likely also replace your card numbers (or account number if check/ACH fraud).

Good luck, sorry it happened to you.
