Hi

The dish guy just came yesterday and installed everything. I have a question about using the DVR.
If I program something to be recorded with the DVR, do I have to change the time the system will shut off in the power menu (It is set to shut off at 4am everyday).
Or will it record even if shut off?

Thxs

Pat

The Hopper (and all DVR's) never really shuts all the way off. It just goes into a standby mode so that recordings can be made. You can feel safe letting it shut off. It won't impact recording.

If you go into menu, settings, power the Hopper will reboot overnight. It will not reboot at this time if a recording is scheduled. You can also set it for last channel or home screen. This only applies when Hopper goes into standby mode. This can also be set from this screen.

The hopper will never shut off for scheduled reboot during a recording. on rare occasions, any DVR May reboot during recording but only if there was some catastrophic problem it couldn't resolve or a short power failure. But, DVRs including the hopper will immediately begin recording once again on that same channel and program immediately after reboot and it will appear as two separate recordings, and it may be missing maybe 2 or 3 minutes hopefully of commercials and not programming. Just so you know.
