Smart Thermostats

Hi guys,
Im just got an Alexa Echo Show and was next thinking about getting a Smart Thermostat ...
Just starting to look at them .... have previously looked at the Nest and today looked at the Honeywell (some of them, from BB basically, so far).

Will Alexa connect to change temps on both or either of these brands ?
A friend put a Honeywell in at the Cottage so he can see whats going on up there temp wise and of course turn up and down as he needs.

I'm noticing the Honeywell is about half the price of the Nest.

A little update on my humidifier project: I had to stop after removing the old Lennox humidifier as the placement of the Aprilaire suggests attaching it to the exhaust plenum from the furnace. Unfortunately, I need to re-route the power conduit as well as the PVC exhaust in order to do that. I may get the humidifier installed just in time to activate the AC! ;)

Jimbo, I'm sure Alexa can change the temperature setting for most any smart thermostat. Heck, even Siri can control my ecobee 3 and set a temperature by request as well as report the remote bee temperatures. I imagine Amazon has been doing this a lot longer and has a more open ecosystem.

There is a third-party Alexa skill for the Honeywell Total Connect Comfort (Lyric) series an another for Honeywell's other network connected smart thermostats.

The voice system that isn't widely supported (and maybe still not on the Nest) is Apple's Homepod.
