    C61K dropping out

Strangely, after doing it all night last night, it hasn't done it even once all day today.. very strange!

    C61K dropping out

I have a HR54 (on Ethernet [2xGigabit]) and a C61K (also on Ethernet [2xGigabit] with a DECA adapter between them) and this setup has been rock solid ever since I put it in many months ago. I got the new UI update a few days ago and things have been going fine except for the lag on the main...

    C61K and HDR

My Google-fu isn't finding anything, so I figured I'd ask. Does the C61K support either kind of HDR format (either HDR10 or Dolby Vision)? I'm guessing no as I can't find anything that suggests it does, and I would think that D* would be touting it if it did. Thanks!

    Random stupid questions

He indeed installed the new LNB, removed the 2nd run from the old LNB to the SWM-16 that is mounted outside, and then completely removed and took the SWM-16 with him. Makes sense, thanks! Awesome, I left the BSFs in! I didn't mean CCK-W, I meant the old CCK that I had laying around. I...

    4K Mini with HR54 issues

If you want the TV to upscale, then just set Native on. With Native off, the client is going to be upscaling!

AT&T plans to move all DirecTV customers to new streaming service

Not to nit-pick, but a T1 is only 1.544Mbps. Even using H.265/HVEC, a 1080p is 5Mbps, so you're not going to be streaming any HD, let alone 4k, over a T1!

    Random stupid questions

All, First off, excuse me for the random stupid questions that I should already know. I *think* I know the answers, but I'd feel better with some confirmations :). Background: Currently we have a Slimline 3LNB dish with 1 HR34 Genie, 2 HR24s, and 1ancient HR21. Since I'm a dork and have...

    New HR34 install

Strangely while I had an extra feed from the SWM16, he didn't use the dedicated line for the power injector, he just put it inline with one of the splitter. Are you sure that DTV disabled Ethernet? It worked a couple of weeks ago before I moved at least! Since my small GigE switches aren't up...

    New HR34 install

Sorry for the multiple questions in one.. figured it was cleaner that way! Just moved again (hopefully for the last time!) and as part of the move they gave us a Genie. So we have: 1 HR34-700, 1 HR24-100, 1 HR24-500, 1 HR21-700, 1 H25-100, and 1 C31-700 (either the C31 or the H25 is going...

Anybody notice that when you skip now, the timeline bar stays on the screen until you hit the EXIT button?

    $5.99 vs $7.99 - Protection Plan

In my case I've set up multiple systems my self... but I'm not renting in a 2-story house, so I keep the plan just to keep my sorry butt from having to climb up on the roof! :)

    On Demand

Weird, mine is working now too. Must have hit it in the middle of an update or something :).

    On Demand

Anybody else having problems w/ On Demand? Using last week's CE I was getting errors that Channel 1000 was unavailable. I reverted back to national and now I can get to On Demand, but the only thing listed is "Welcome to DIRECTV on DEMAND"! What happened to everything?! :(

Not Happy (Phone line problem on dish interactive)

That's a HUGE problem with DISH. They only care about the newest models out there, period. Had major problems w/ my 622. Kept telling me it's a known bug and they're working on it. Never offered to replace it, despite the fact that I was paying for DHPP. As soon as I got fed up and called...

SatelliteGuys Premiere Review: The DirecTV SWM LNB

    Right now I have 1 HR21 and 3 D12s. Maybe I should upgrade one of the D12s to a HR21 before I move! :)

SatelliteGuys Premiere Review: The DirecTV SWM LNB

Man. I have an install scheduled in our new house in the Dallas area in early June. I wish I knew if they could install a SWM before I get in the attic and run a 2nd coax line for the DVR!

VOOM Goes BOOM - update Dish Drops all 15 VOOM Channels

I guess he never had to deal with the whole 942 -> 622 upgrade mess due to VOOM going MPEG-4 :)

VOOM Goes BOOM - update Dish Drops all 15 VOOM Channels

I don't get this logic. We need to make 100 HD channels, so remove 15 to do it? It's not like 1 new HD channel is going to take less room than 1 VOOM channel did, unless they compress the !@#$ out of it!

Can I op-out my contract because voom move?

I'm pretty sure the contract says you can't get out of it due to change of programming.

Moving to a 2nd story house

Well, I have 1 HD-DVR and 3 regular receivers, (total of 5 tuners), so I do need 4 lines. I just didn't know if they would run them into the attic as part of a standard install or not.

Moving to a 2nd story house

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but it's a new situation for me. My current house is a 1-story w/ an existing E* dish. When we had D* installed, we ran the 2nd RG6 to the master bedroom for the HD-DVR, and ran the extra 2 RG6 runs outside to where the dish was. This way all the...

Thinking of switching from Dish to DirectTV

Correct. If you get a HR20, you'll have a single OTA connection just like the E* 622/722. If you get a HR21, it does not have OTA, however it does have an addon box coming that adds dual OTA capabilites.

Thinking of switching from Dish to DirectTV

What, people still use land lines? :) Seriously though, E* did the same thing to me with a screwed up 622, and I actually paid their stupid DHPP! So they're not much better.

    Simple D* HD DVR Question

Cut the crap? I posted about my problem on the 622 bug list. I complained about the problem before and after I canceled my DISH account. Feel free to use the Search function before you call others names! I never said the HR21 has something that the 622/722 didn't have. (And it does, D* VOD...

Directv on demand w/ wireless usb adapter

Nope. Your two best bets would be a wireless bridge for game consoles (they're basically wireless to ethernet bridges) or powerline adapters.
