More Cable Channels are about to end due to cord cutting

I believe that more as the reason ESPN has lost viewers than because of an "agenda" or boycott because of a supposed agenda. Thanks for sharing that.

More Cable Channels are about to end due to cord cutting

One of those is a right leaning outlet so it's not surprising what they came up with. If people can't handle messages of inclusiveness and diversity within a sports broadcast, then they have plenty of places they can go for messages of divisiveness and non-inclusivity (aka, right wing media)...

Only 64% of Households Have a Live Pay-TV Service

To be realistic, it's gotten expensive. And as far as the yewts are concerned, their attention is elsewhere and not on on live TV. I still like live TV, especially sports, but instead of carrying a service all year round, I'm now only carrying a service (Hulu Live TV) from October-early June...

More Cable Channels are about to end due to cord cutting

Pushing an agenda???. What agenda is that? ESPN needs channels like that for overflow from Sept-May to hold all of the pro and college sports they've taken on. Especially college sports.

    Disney/Hulu News

Hulu Live TV has a deal now with $20 off per month for 3 months so the price is $49.99/month. I did this last year when I ditched DISH and it's a pretty solid value for what you get. Live locals, sports, Disney+. Hulu, ESPN+, DVR service. It will get me through the first 3 months of NHL and the...

    Paramount +

I did a free trial of Paramount+ with Showtime for 30 days and when I went to cancel just before the the 30 days was up so that I didn't get billed, it offered me 2 more free months. So I took it. It's been great for my local CBS station which has issues on my indoor OTA. The other thing I...

As streaming prices rise, cord-cutters are cutting back

If you're OK with ad-supported tiers for streaming, you can save a lot of money. Of course, it depends what interests you......if you have to have sports and/or specific teams, the savings may not be there...

Data Caps Are Likely Coming to Spectrum Customers Soon

Personally, I'll believe it when I see it if Spectrum doesn't put data caps in place. But, with the rollout of some of the national wireless providers doing 5G home internet, plus what Amazon will be doing PLUS smaller regional companies like Greenlight Networks and GoNetspeed coming online...

    YES dtc

I don't know the details but doesn't MLB have a large national contract with ESPN and other national providers like Apple TV that pays them a chunk of money each year for rights? What percentage does a team get from the national contract vs. the RSN? I know the NFL broadcast fees help determine...

    YES dtc

Because you're a Yankees fan who cut the cord and live in their broadcast territory.

    YES dtc

Even at $25 a month, per game that's maybe about $1-2 per game per month. April has 28 games, for example, and not all of them will be on YES but even still on a per game basis, it's a pretty good deal. And month to month would be cheaper than the annual plan if all you want it for is the...

DISH Hacked - Websites are BACK ONLINE!

"Personal information" could be a few different things from my name and address to my Email address and phone number to my on-file credit card number and SSN number. It would be good to know sooner than later what the hackers got.

DISH Hacked - Websites are BACK ONLINE!

Has there been any statement from DISH (or other sources) as to what customer data the hackers got from the DISH system? Did they get credit card numbers and SSNs? Email addresses? I think DISH at some point has to be up front with their customers as to what the hackers got so that customers...

MSG Network to launch OTT app this summer

It's $310 for a yearly subscription which comes out to $25.83 a month for 12 months. The $30 for a month is if you do a month to month. Given how there isn't NHL or NBA content on MSG for June, July, August and September, it would be cheaper to carry it month to month for only 7-8 months...

MSG Network to launch OTT app this summer

I didn't see anything about whether they will allow multiple streams outside of the household at the same time. If it's possible, it might work out well if you split the cost with at least 1 other person and it's $15/month. On the surface, $30/month is steep but I guess if you look at what it...

Dish Loses 268,000 Pay TV Subscribers in Fourth Quarter

I'm the same way.....18 years a DISH customer but my loss will count in Q1 of this year. We went with Hulu Live TV which includes ESPN+ (and Disney+ and regular Hulu). For $75 all-in, it's saving me ~$25 a month I would have spent with DISH and ESPN+ on its own (for NHL and NLL games). YTTV...

DISH Hacked - Websites are BACK ONLINE!

It's my fault....I canceled my DISH service on Monday after 18 years and apparently my account was propping up the entire system. My bad. ;)

Dish 722k Pause or Cancel For 5 Months

It took some hoops to jump through but I got my service canceled (verified by logging into my account). At first, the CSR said they were sending a box to send back the receiver but when he saw what I had (722k) he said recycle it and the remotes. I'm supposed to get an Email in the next 72 hours...

Dish 722k Pause or Cancel For 5 Months

Good timing on this question....I'm on Pause right now and am going to be canceling DISH this month, and I also have a leased 722k. I imagine they will want the receiver back but I will find out when I make the call.

Google Scores NFL Sunday Ticket Package

The headline is a bit misleading on that CNBC story.....Google is paying $2 billion per year for the rights. The total is approx $14 billion over 7 years but what's give or take a billion these days. ;)

    Suspend Service

Has to be a phone call. Chat will end up giving you the phone number to do it but chat can answer your questions about timing, how Pause works, etc. You can choose 3, 6 or 9 months for it.

any vestigial programming left upon entering Dish Pause?

I'm in Pause right now. It's just shopping channels that are available. You can still watch anything recorded on your DVR and I think you can still order PPV. Free preview might be open.....RedZone has been available when it's been in Freeview.
