I have an HR-21-700. I also have a picture-in-picture feature in my TV. Is there any way to use the PIP with my D* system? In other words, can I watch 2 shows at once in PIP mode? I thought these had a "dual" receiver or is that just for the DVR?

I just had a HR-21 installed and I see it has HDMI port. My HDTV only has a DVI input (2003). I saw a cable that is HDMI on one end and DVI on the other. Should I use this instead of the componenet video cables - will it affect my HDTV from the HR-21? I know I still need the audio jacks but...

I had the same EXACT problem. I fixed myself - with the help of this forum! - On your satellite set-up, if you have the Slimline dish - choose the 5-LNB satellite option. It worked for me - good luck and let us know.

Well a big THANK YOU to this wonderful forum! I - yes me as in the non-paid dish installer - thanks to this board - I fixed my HD channel problem. I did the sat setup and chose the 5 LNB Slimline and it worked! The installed is supposed to come back tomorrow...I'll wait until he installs all...

...HR21, AM21, switches an realigned dish with some hand held gizmo. Still no "old" HD channels. My house was built in 1998 and was pre-wired for E* - Dish 500. Now the installer thinks (from what he's being told by a tech at D*) he may need to replace the old coax with "new". I have no idea...

Well he's still at my house. I saw him select the Slimline 3 LNB option on the setup menu. He was on the phone with D* and now he's replacing a "switch"? Or now they've even talked about sending a new HR-21. Any more ideas?

RAD: The readings were in the 90's and a couple of 80's. But it didnt show anything for the 119. It didnt even show it on the list of satellites. He's on his way so I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for the reply. The locals on the smaller dish were there earlier and then gone. I've never had a LOS problem with E* and the backyard is pretty clear of trees, etc. And the HR21 wasnt ever showing a 119 satellite. I hope he can "fix" it and not have to go crawling back to E*!!!!

Just switched from E* to D*. Had the retailer do the install on Saturday. He installed 2 dishes - the Slimline and another smaller one. The receivers were the HR-21-700 and 3 of the standard. He also installed an AM21 for my locals which D* does not currently carry in HD...Youngstown, OH...

So what exactly is the difference other than the ATSC tuner?

My local retailer gave me the choice of each and had both in stock. How or where do I et the AM-21? And how much is it?

I'm currently with E* and have an 811 receiver. I have a HDTV that does not have an internal HDTV tuner. My E* reciever has one built in - so my OTA is plugged in the back and PRESTO, I have free off-air HDTV. Now, I'm thinking about switching to D* - because of NFL Sunday ticket and more HD...
