    Some Advise on motor setup.

Radar, just wondering if after I try the reset if that doesn't work could I fudge the longitude. My Longitude: -80.60 and could that be fudged? But maybe if the reset fails I may just call the manufacture and get it replaced.

    Some Advise on motor setup.

Thanks Radar, I think I did just as you said. Since 83 was close I used USALS and moved the dish /motor to that position. Then I put my receiver on RTV and loosened the bracket on pole and turned until I got highest signal. And guess where the motor is... right on 0! I think there is something...

    Some Advise on motor setup.

I did use 83W and it is at 0 position on the motor. What is happening is I can track all the sats right on until 95W. After 95W it over shoots the sats by one satellite. I change to DiSEqC and bump it back east until I get a signal on the right satellite and great signal. I don't understand...

    Some Advise on motor setup.

I got a new motor (different MFG.) and need advice on what to do with my true south sat. My true south is 81.0 W Galaxy 9. I can not find on the list any transponders. So, any advice on setting this motor up and a way to point it? Thanks Rich

    Openbox question.

brentb636, yeah I was thinking of that but sometimes I just like to start at the top of the list and just click away. @ FaT Air, downloaded editor and will play with it this weekend. You also answered my next question about entering PIDS. Thanks for the replies you all make this hobby more...

    Openbox question.

Ok, I finally broke down and purchased an Openbox. I guess it is time to put the Mercury II to bed but I'll miss it. The question I have is, is there a way to sort by satellite? Right now the satellites are out of order and the dish swings from one side of the arc then back as I just flip down...

fence pipe with concret still loose a little

Josh, no problems filling the pipe to the top. I filled two of mine to the top and it only served to make them sturdier. And just don't mount the dish at the top. Well good luck and keep us posted.

fence pipe with concret still loose a little

Pics of what i did. This a pic of mine. The dish is only mounted 37" above the base. No movement.

fence pipe with concret still loose a little

I too used fence pipe for my dishes. I too put concrete down the middle of the pipe. The base I dug down 30" to ensure I was below the frost line. I use a 10 1/2" dia plastic bucket which was 15" high. I cut the bottom off the bucket and dropped it over the pipe and centered it setting it on the...

can 2 receivers be used to drive a motor?

I been doing this for about seven months. I have had no problems develop or motor issues. I put an "A" "B" coax switch inline between the two receivers. Each receiver in different inputs on my tv. The only rule I have followed, which I don't know if it is important, is I always shut the receiver...

    Is it worth the cost?

Okay, then it seems that it would add to my entertainment. And I am looking at the Sathawk or a Pansat 9000hd. But the Sathawk $$ is easier to sell to my wife, who don't understand my hobby. But she didn't understand ham radio either. Okay, I guess I can always add a bigger dish later and play...

    Is it worth the cost?

I do enjoy hunting feeds. But if it's only the Fashion Ch. then I am better off not spending the money. I guess I will have to go make an offer on a BUD down the street. Thanks for your answer, it helps.

    Is it worth the cost?

Simple question. I have been thinking of getting a new receiver. Is it worth upgrading to a HD box if I only do KU on an 90cm dish. Don't want to spend the money if there is not much gain. The dish is motorized. Rich

    Which LNB for Superdish?

Here are a few pics of what I did with my super dish. It is pointed at 72W and works very well. I also put some super glue on lnb and bracket just so it wouldn't slip after I got it lined up. That is the original bracket that comes on the dish. I just looked through my collection of lnb's and...

    Buying new box.

Thanks for the two answers. They both gave me more to think about. The HD Box I didn't consider much because I don't see a lot of it in use and only slowly being utilized. I never looped a receiver before so that would be a new one for me. I do like my Mercury and the only reason I want another...

    Buying new box.

Okay, I am putting the Mercury II on the self and going to but a new box. I am thinking of the Pansat 4500. Would anyone know if this box would blind scan any better than the Mercury? I don't care about the speed but I have notice the Mercury misses a lot. Also, does the Pansat have a good motor...

    Super Dish lnb

Thanks for the replies. Thanks for all the replies. It is amazing what one can do with a spare LNB and wire ties. I just wire tied the lnb to the bracket where the dual LNB's were mounted. Hooked it all up today and got a great signal, better than I hope for. Seems like a great dish. Thanks...

    Super Dish lnb

Is the LNB off to the side on a Super DISH a linear LNB? I would like to fix it on 72W and hope not to have to rig a different LNB on it. Thanks Rich

    Satellite Programing Service?

I was just wondering if there is any service like SPS for KU band? I was looking at their site (SPS) and all their offerings are only on C band. And if one does exist could a Mercury II handle it? Thanks Rich
