    OTA dongle issue

Sounds like multipath, what we saw as ghosting in analog manifests as a dropped signal in digital. I have line of sight to a tower with two local affiliates and one of them likes to drop like this. It’s more prevalent with a stronger signal.

Retention discount for current customer out of contract?

I do all my Dish customer service transactions through Facebook messenger. It’s so much better than calling. You’ll have to enter a new 2 year contract but they have some good deals.

    Dish and ACC Network/ESPN addition?

Great way to lose customers. I left DTV and went back to Dish when we were 3-4 weeks from launch and they hadn’t made an announcement. Hard to believe it’s been 5 years.

    RSNs on Dish

The AT&T Rocky Mountain RSN has been on my lineup for a few months now in N.C. as well. No idea why. I also still get Fox Sports Carolina which is my normal RSN. I can’t see dish dropping these but then again who thought they’d drop HBO. I’m a Dish loyalist but I’d switch providers over it.

    5G

WRAL, WRAZ and WFMY have to move to new RF slots before T-Mobile can build 600MHz in central N.C.

    ABC?

Are you by chance referring to WCTI channel 12 in eastern N.C?

Doh. I was hoping this wasn’t a Pac12 After Dark game. Thanks for the heads up.

    4K Events Discussion Thread

Do the games usually start on time? Just got a 4K TV and trying to access the SoCal/Oregon State game. Getting a rotation of two slates promoting SES Events and full time 4K channels.

    Programming substitution for Harvey

They're both owned by Sinclair. KGBT may be the closest CBS affiliate owned by Sinclair.

    Local Channels optional

Wonder if this means the dual OTA tuner will be enabled soon. Dropping locals is kind of difficult if you only have the one tuner.

    Snowy screen since new CUI

I just had this same thing happen tonight. We were using another input on the TV, switched to the Joey input and it was snow. It was not that much different from old fashioned analog snow, just smaller pixels. I turned the Joey on and back off again and that set it back to normal.

DISH Invites Customers to Deflate the Game Not the Ads

I don't have the icons either. The SB and the postgame show are there in PTAT but they are just normal recordings.

DISH Invites Customers to Deflate the Game Not the Ads

I must be doing something wrong. I've never used PTAT or AutoHop before; I disabled it pretty much immediately after installation since we don't watch much of anything on the networks. But I enabled it on Saturday, for NBC sunday night. It recorded the Super Bowl, but it's not hopping over...

    Local ads on national channels

How are they inserting these for local areas though? I didn't know that was possible unless it was on a spot beam.

    Local ads on national channels

I was curious if anyone knew the details on how the nationwide cable channels are fed. Twice now I have seen ads for NC's senate race on ESPN. These are during the carrier insertion portion of breaks. They're surrounded by Dish promos or other SD ads that were definitely inserted by Dish...

    Two OTA modules?

I was more talking about someone in another room watching OTA awhile something is also recording OTA. TV tuner would require me to run a drop to every room, I'd rather run just one to the Hopper.

    Two OTA modules?

That is probably what I will do then. I assume a second Hopper costs a bit more per month than a Super Joey and I'd rather take a bit of time to see if we can live with one OTA tuner. Overall, boy things sure have changed in the time I've been away from Dish!

    Two OTA modules?

Darn, means I'm going to have to call in. I don't see a way to do it online. They only seem to want to offer you a Hopper + Super Joey + multiple Joeys. Thanks for the information everyone.

    Two OTA modules?

We have 4 TVs so two Hoppers would not be an issue. Can the installer make that upgrade for me once they're here, or do I have to do that at the time I place the order? The nearest retailer that's about an hour/hour-half away. Not sure if they'll travel this far but it's worth checking out.

    Two OTA modules?

Unfortunately we rarely watch the local channels outside of the news. Mostly subchannels and neighboring market channels if we're not watching something that's cable/satellite only.

    Two OTA modules?

How do you order two Hoppers? Do you have to purchase the second one?

    Two OTA modules?

I've had cable for a couple years now and lack of a decent whole home DVR as well as SEC Network is drawing me back to Dish. Cable carries a local from a neighboring market as well as several subchannels that Dish doesn't, so I'm looking into the OTA module to use with my attic antenna. I...

    Thinking of getting HD

So, we just finally bought a HDTV. I'm thinking about upgrading one other room to a HDTV as well, and want to upgrade equipment accordingly. I'm pulling my hair out trying to convey to a Dish CSR what I want to accomplish, so I am deferring to the experts here. What I have now: 1 508 (serves...

Wouldn't I have to buy the 322 though? It'd take awhile to recoup the initial cost just in that savings.
