a good tech will work with you to put the job in the ground, pardon the pun. remember that he'll not get paid if he can't do it. if he accomplishes what he set out to do to your satisfaction, a tip would be a nice gesture.
whether you use the cement-in-the-flowerpot-approach or the non-pen, you'll need a 2" od mast. Flat cable will fail over time if not fail instantly. Avoid flat cable (even the ones that are swept to 3 Ghz) when installing an au9 system. If there's no way to hide cable penetration, pass them...
You can't down load ka birds on your b'dog but you'll need to download the 101 and 119 ka on it. The front edge if the nut on the elevation is the reference. Make sure that the odu is not damaged since you transport it a lot. Good luck.
To put it bluntly, 1 degree off the sats is 380 miles of that sat 22,300 miles in space. Do the math. The 103 and the 99 sats are even less forgiving when it comes to accuaracy.
You can designate the receivers dtv, av1 and av2 and set each receiver to rf mode. 961, channel up and then the last 6 digits of the rid on the receiver, then select. It's all in the menu...
Ive used 59 for sat and sometimes it'll work. But I'll always have a plan b. If the house has been on cable forever and you introduce voltage to the 59, the effect is immediate... shorts everywhere. If the 59 center conductor is copper clad steel, its not a good idea at all for hd.
When you turn to a hd channel, are you watching the sd duplicate? I mean, is your hd programming even in the receiver. If you turn to hd weather channel and get a 721, you might just call D* to reauthorize your hd programming to the rec'r.
Is this guy full of BS or will Direct not let him use the existing RG-59?
Can it really melt?
All the stubs come to a panel in the garage. I could easily add 3 feet of RG-6 to each line and he would not know what was there. At each tv there is a wall plate, so unless he opened one he would...
In the main menu, select setup, then hdtv. Go to the tab tv resolutions and see if all resolutions are enabled. If noy, turn them on. You might want to turn the native mode on as well.
In the menu, select repeat satellite setup (it will ask you to press the thumbs down button three times) and then choose one satellite only. You'll be good to go untill you run the second drop. At that time you'll want to redo the setup.
The definitive check you have is the "test" channels: 480/481 for odd and even txps on the 103; 482/483 for odd and even txps on the 99. If you get a confirmations on the bottom right of the screens, you're on the sats just fine.
Best thing to do is to call D* ISS (installation support) and ask for a second opinion. This will get you a visit from a lead tech or sup who can tell you for sure whether that is a good idea or not. Don't get your hopes up. 30 degrees of elevation isn't much. FIY: The "look angle" of our...
In D*'s eyes, this is "customer caused". What you should have done was to schedule a service call to reinstall your dish by a tech, not a roofer. You probably didn't want to hear this, but this happens frequently. Your system was fine until you allowed someone other that a qualified...
I was working for an HSP and D* recently acquirewd us. I'm curious to see what changes to our pay and benefits will be. Subs have it a lot tougher since they have a greater overhead. My start up expenses were my tools. Dont waste your money on an inclinometer. In my opinion, subs tend to do...
