    Trouble Shooting PowerVu D9850

I have several if you still need it. One should note that if you are going to try and subscribe to programming you need to make sure that the ID# is not locked to a programmer. Get the unit ID before buying it and contact the programer to make sure they can turn it on. Some of these IRDs...

    Motorola DSR410DS Satellite Receiver

This thread was not about the voom receiver it was about the older HITS receivers. They are DCII only. And were used with old rebranded Primestar LNBs. The Voom receiver has VideoGuard and DCII encription. And is compatable with both DCII and DVB FTA signals. But has the same problem this...

    Motorola DSR410DS Satellite Receiver

The voom remote will work with this receiver but the remote has nothing to do with the voom service its just a rebranded motorola remote. You will see the same rebranded remote on new digital cable boxes. The problem is that the receiver has no L.O. Setting so it requires a 10750 LNB. The...

    Cell Phone interupting dish signal

Check that you have compression fittings on the ends of the cables and not the crimp on types. Also check for RG6 cable. And be sure the dish is aimed for max signal. Modern cell phones should not be causing that problem.

Dish calling offering to install free OTA Antennas

    Grounding an Antenna Mast

You need to ground it by the electric code. Never install a second ground rod without bonding it to your existing ground rod with #6 wire. Same rule for cable, phone & satellite. Falure to do so will create ground loops that could destroy your equipment.

    fta and bud

Yes you can and I have seen adapters but you can most likely make your own. You can use 1 wire you would need a switch at the lnb. Most FTA receivers support the switches but the old C band receivers and 4dtv do not. Just put your FTA receiver inline first and loop to your cband receiver...

    Motorola DSR410DS Satellite Receiver

The LO in these receivers is hard coded to the standard LNBS. They will not work on a cband LNB because you can not change the LO. This is the same problem we have with the Voom Receivers.

    Motorola DSR410DS Satellite Receiver

    Motorola DSR410DS Satellite Receiver

I had one of these but sold it. From what I have read it should be able to get DCII FTA if you can get it to load the channel maps. I tried but mine would not load any channel maps. It is setup to use a primestar type KU LNB. The remote uses the same code as a Voom Remote so you can just use...

    Globecast / FTA options

Be advised that the receiver they send may just be a FTA receiver with a card in it. Look for a setup where you can add other FTA channels. The ones they used to ship from ABS-CBN for the Filipino channels were just FTA receivers with A CAM slot and a card. They had a manual setup menu where...

Is there an easy way to install a Twin Universal LNBF on a Primestar dish??

They are all over the place here in La but they belong to the cable co. unless they don't pick them up. Cox cable also uses them for the HITS system.

1/26/05 E* Retailer Chat News Regarding Newly Acquired Frequencies

Voom uses the DC2 format but not the DC2 encryption. They use a NDS card for encryption. DC2 encryption systems do not use a card. On the back of the receiver and onscreen you will see the UA# or DC2 Unit ID#. When using DC2 encryption like on (CBAND 4dtv) and (HITS)KU they need this # to...
