Not to argue with you, but this was the Comcast New England feed on tonight, and you said DirecTV "has not even begun the negotiating process to have comcast new england sports celtics games in hd" obviously implying that there will be no CSNE HD games on DirecTV anytime soon.

I'm getting the CSNE in HD right now on Channel 95 (I'm in the Boston DMA).

Yeah 4 looks pretty bad still. I even noticed NESN HD has weird red "specks" in the picture. Frustrating...things were looking pretty good there for awhile.

OK, well at least I'm not the only one. Hopefully they fix this soon. It's most noticeable during sports.

Anyone else having problems with their MPEG4 HD locals in Boston? It started Friday for me. Right now the basketball games on channels 4 and 5 look pretty bad (I guess you could call it macro-blocking) especially on the "far" camera. OTA the channels look fine.

For what it's worth, this is the info posted on the FSN New England site: http://fsnnewengland.com/FSN%20HD.jsp DirecTV lists FSN New England on their RSN HD page, and when I put in my zip code it says the Celtics are available in HD.

The Celtics game last night should have been in HD. All of their home games are in HD (My buddy has Adelphia and all of Celts home games are HD for him). Other than the first two games, D* has not carried FSNE in HD on Channel 96, like they should be.

FSNE HD is on channel 96, but I only saw the first two games on. Only the Celts home games are in HD. I wouldn't get your hopes up too much about NESN HD being fixed, someone on another site reported that after the 1st half of the last Bruins game, the second half had the 8mm effect again...

Does CBS really look better for you? I'm watching the Pats game now, and compared to the Sunday Ticket MPEG2 version, it's definately stuttering. :(

NESN HD finally looks fixed. No more "stuttering"!! This is great news. I hope the football games on ch4 and ch7 look fine today too. :)

What's interesting is, I swear it wasn't choppy the first night (although I didn't watch the whole thing) I definately noticed the choppiness last night. How do you know the game is in 1080i (without going by the choppiness)? I thought FSNE was 720p.

It wasn't stuttery last night, but that's because I think FSNE HD is 720p not 1080i. I've only noticed the stuttering on the 1080 channels (CBS, NBC, NESN)

It sounds like they are fixing this problem in other markets (NY, Chicago, Charlotte, Memphis). I don't know what the wait is for Boston, we have to be one of the biggest markets

Both issues need to be fixed SOON. Especially if they are going to take away my DNS HD locals.

I think this is a Boston MPEG 4 issue. I've had the same problems with channel 7 lately (I'm in the Boston area).

I'm really beginning to think they don't believe there is an issue with their MPEG4 channels. I've called a few times, and I haven't been able to speak with anyone who even acknowledges the bad frame rate issue. All I want is for someone to tell me they are working on it!
