I have an old Alliance rotor and control with a Radio Shack VU-90 antenna . There is a broken cog in the motor that let's it slip counter-clockwise in high winds Is there a repair for this motor? If not, please suggest replacement hardware.

1.)You can't reuse old Dish Network and DirecTV dishes... You will need either a Ku Band FTA dish ... in a fixed position, which has very limited capability. A motorized dish is much more useful. or a motorized Big Ugly Dish with a motor control box. 2.) FTA does not replace Over The Air...

I suppose you could use it in a reflector grid array but the sweet spot is focused in too small of an area to be of use. Hang a preamped indoor uhf antenna about 8" from the dish and the bottom of the antenna even with the center ...move it around. You should get some db gain...
