Another Searching for Satellite -771 problem

Here's a twist on the 771: I have 3 units going. I'm getting all the channels on 2 of them. The third receiver is not finding 25% of the channels., like 229 / 628. The connections seem fine. Think the receiver is going?

Need help w/Antenna choice - Omaha

I'm using an indoor terk directional on the main level, which needs to be pointed for each of the local channels. My wife thinks that she's too good to actually have to remember where to point it , but we also lose signal anytime the wind blows. On the upper level I have a simple rabbit...

Need help w/Antenna choice - Omaha

Sorry to be bumping this, but I've spent the last year wasting my time listening to my wife screaming at me to quit stalling and get this fixed. She's sick and tired of lost signals. So, has anything changed? Any recommendations for good installers? BTW, I'll be looking for someone willing...

Need help w/Antenna choice - Omaha

"Combining two similar antennas pointing in different directions usually gets you less signal than one (Merging feedlines)" I was afraid of that. Thanks.

Need help w/Antenna choice - Omaha

Jim, Thats very interesting and so simple and cheap I'll certainly try it. Just a couple of quick questions. Will this only pick up UHF, so the PBS station that broadcasts on VHS won't be picked up? Would building 2 of these, aim them in the two main directions, combine them using a splitter...

Need help w/Antenna choice - Omaha

Help, I live in Omaha and find that the tower locations are a nightmare for an OTA antenna. Some stations are located in one direction and several others are over 100 degrees off. Another important one to me (PBS) is 180 degrees from the majors. Someone has suggested that I mount an...

    Technical question re: D*/Cable/OTA

Just to clarify, I have 4 TVs hooked up to 4 D* receivers. I'm guessing that I'll end up keepng the cable TV, but run it as a seperate line to one of the TVs for emergency purposes. I was hoping that someone has experience with my specific set-up. Thanks for the input.

    Technical question re: D*/Cable/OTA

I have D* and basic cable (its free) running to my TVs and D* receivers through the same coax. It works fine. I had an installer put up a HD OTA antenna so I can get my locals in HD. The D* and cable still work, but the OTA signals do not come through. The installer is guessing that the OTA...

Help! Neighbor wants to steal my signal!

So far I haven't seen anyone give any credit to he landlord. The assumption is always that the LL is clueless about how D* works. The LL might very well know that there's no reason that they couldn't get a receiver, take $5/mos it off the rent and hook up.

    YES Network ?

You can get YES, but am I mistaken in assuming that the Live games will be blacked out, since MLB thinks that a fan must live in a teams DMA or become a fan of the team in the DMA where he/she lives? Either way, the question remains, does D* spotbeam the NBC-HD East signal?

Searching for signal with second receiver??

I had the same problem in one room. The receiver would periodically freeze or search for signal. It turns out that a connection was somehow comprimised. I just started at the receiver and loosened and re-attached the connections as far as I could go. Everything has been fine ever since. If...

    YES Network ?

Suppose I choose option # 2 and used a NY area (not NY proper) address. Now also suppose that I pay for the HD programming and my "local" NBC affiliate is owned by NBC so I can get a waiver. This waiver allows me to get NBC-HD East. Is NBC-HD East spotbeamed so I would not be able to actually...

    H20 Receiver

Sorry, if this has been covereged before, but I've got limited time now and I'd like to pick up the "free" H20 today. I downloaded the manual and see something about it needing a "5 LBN Multi-Satellite Dish Antenna - MPEG4 and Ka/Ku Compatable" What is this. I have a 3 (I think). Also, I...

I've been a member of this board for quite some time, so I know that this is the best place to get advice. I have a problem with one of my DirecTV locations in the house. It is the bedroom, where I have replaced a basic Samsung receiver with one of the original basic RCA receivers that came...
