Is it possible to use my Globecast TV subscription smartcard in my DVB World CAM smartcard reader?

I have a paid subscription to Globecast TV channels using their provided receiver. I would like to use my computer to watch these channels. I have a CAM smart card reader that is compatible with the smartcard used by Globecast. Is my smartcard married to the receiver they sent me? How can I...

KLBS1 Sadoun band stacked Linear KU band Single LNBF

Review: My KBSL1 experience Here is a picture of the KBSL1 on my 36" dish. I replaced my cheap old twin LNBf I bought from an all Asian flee market with the KBSL1. The good news: This product what it claims, it split my satellite signal from Galaxy 19, 97.0W two separate tuners. I was...

Interesting. I wonder what the DVB-S2 bug is. Any way to find out? Thanks for the post!

No personal vendetta. I have no idea why they do what they do, I just simply point it out what I see. Yeah, I think it would be a good idea to have a new Tevii thread. Ill go ahead and copy my posts. Iceberg has the ability to move posts, which is probably a cleaner way to do it; but would...

    dvb world dvb-s2

This issue might be moot as I decided to order the DVB World PCI card. However, the card I ordered looks like it has the same obsolete technology as the USB tuners. Anyway, I only saw the still picture. I already asked them what demod/tuner is being used in their S660 product. If you...

    dvb world dvb-s2

It looks like TeVii did a pretty good job withe their drivers. They didnt have a 3rd satellite feed to test with, but they are confident they can have 3 or more active tuners pretty easily; with the tech support to back it up. Too bad it was done on older hardware technology.

Thanks for catching that! I knew that the TeVii solution sounded too good to be true ...responsive/helpful tech support, small sleek black design, multi-tuner support, H.264, etc. Since I cant be 100% positive I wont ever need to watch DVB-S2 sources, I'll have to pass. BTW. now I know why...

    dvb world dvb-s2

Thanks for the links! I'll definitely read through them. Maybe the other forum member with the multiple PCs and DVB World USB 2104s might figure out some kind of workaround; although, from the way he described, he exhausted all reasonable possibilities to for them to work together on one...

    dvb world dvb-s2

Working in technology support myself, I definitely understand the what goes into supporting users and a products in respect to company size and resources. It only takes a minute to post on here or reply to a support email. Keep in mind, my original support emails were never answered this week...

Hi Zamar, I saw Peter sign on MSN messenger yesterday. I told him specifically about your forum post here. Unfortunately, it seems he chose to not respond to your question after giving him the link to your post. I dont know, maybe he didnt bother following up with their engineer from a couple...

Two or more Technotrend 3600 USB devices on same PC

I already confirmed with TBS (another DVB-S2 USB device manufacturer) that their drivers will not support two of the same devices except for their dual tuner PCI model. I think its pretty reasonable for me to at least find one person that has this working on another product before buying a...

Two or more Technotrend 3600 USB devices on same PC

I'm not sure how else to phrase it. Its been tested on multiple machines for DVB World USB devices from another forum member here. There is also no evidence anywhere of someone having two identical USB DVB-S2 devices. The TBS USB device limitation with same behavior was already confirmed by...

Two or more Technotrend 3600 USB devices on same PC

Its a reproducible issue on the DVB world USB devices as well as TBS. It doesnt matter what kind of motherboard or 32 bit Windows OS; as the behavior is the same.

Two or more Technotrend 3600 USB devices on same PC

I already have 10 USB devices on the same machine. 8 of the USB based tuners. 4 of them are identical, 2 of them identical 4 R5000 based tuners USB, 2 dual tuner based QAM/ATSC USB. What I'm talking about is specific to DVB-S2 (same device).

Two or more Technotrend 3600 USB devices on same PC

Thanks for replying Starman, the problem is using two of the SAME devices. For example, if you had two 2104's on the same machine, I dont think you would be so fortunate since they aren't using the same driver.

Two or more Technotrend 3600 USB devices on same PC

I'ved asked this same question on all over the world. However, it seems like there is nobody on earth who has tried to use more than one of these on the same PC. At least there's no evidence of this anywhere recorded in Internet history. Will two or more of this model tuner work on the same...

Does anyone have 2 IDENTICAL USB DVB-S2 tuners on their PC?

I apologize if this is sort of a double-post. However, I thought I'd ask a more general question than any specific brand (from the DVB World USB DVB-S2 tuner thread). Does anyone at all have installed and successfully working two identical USB DVB-S2 tuners on the same PC? I know someone very...

DvbWorld DVB-S2 HD 2104 USB BOX

I currently own the CA version of this product and use it with DVB Dream. I would like to add a second one to my setup. Does anyone have two of them on the same PC? I presume this is pretty common. However, one person told me that if I hook up two DVBWorld USB devices on the same machine...

Am I the first person to try to use the WorldDVB DVB-S2-CA Card Reader?

Success!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sort of Damn, I'm good. :) I'm not going into too much detail, but I'll just say this: You can use your card reader for Irdeto subscription channels; just, not for the Nagravision protected ones. Nagravision encryption inherently pairs the smartcard serial # with...

CA Card Read lights up when a real smartcard is put in! Well, I received my WorldTV smartcard today. It is set for getting the Armenian channel; however, it needs to be "activated" on the WorldTV receiver that I haven't received yet in the mail which looks exactly like the one in this link...

Oh nice! I wonder if it's as simple as I think it is. There's a checkbox "Active" to turn it on. I enabled it. I wish there was a way to test it. I haven't received my nagra smartcard yet.

Am I the first person to try to use the WorldDVB DVB-S2-CA Card Reader?

Oh okay. That makes sense. So, now we're left with how to test this CA implementation. They obviously went through significant research and development to implement this. I'm just curious how it was meant/designed to work; presuming WorldTV is willing.

Am I the first person to try to use the WorldDVB DVB-S2-CA Card Reader?

Hmmm? So, I should be able to download apps like these and somehow it would recognize my card reader and start using it like any another USB smartcard reader. If that were the case, wouldnt WIndows also start the smartcard service when the smartcard device is detected? I know that at...
