    myself enhance your over the air , better antenna add a preamp. if you have good internet get a roku and add pluto tv to it , its free and has a lot of good stuff on it. and also ge a C band dish.

    on mine the elavation screw rusted up. I freed it up and took it apart and coated it with grease.

    Dont take it personal,he just dose not like the V7. for the price they are a good receiver. if you want better you will pay more. for me i now use my Freesat for dish pointing and for a backup.

    look for a used 8 10 or 12 foot dish. The good stuff is on C band. KU band is limited for english channels. I myself have 3 fixed KU dishes for News channels. one mini bud and a 10 foot C band dish. tell us what you and your family would want to watch. and you will get good advice on what to get.

    Grab it. when at home take your time and see what it needs. if you need welding another option is auto repair shops, the shops that do frame repair. i have had some welding done from auto shops.

    what will work in a mountanou area in TN for free air tv

    I use a 91XG tv antenna with a preamp, it has very high gain, go to tv fool and put your zip code in and see what you can get OTA. you can start with a KU setup to start. when you get the bug you will want to go to C band, thats where the most and best is. lots of help here.

    I had a dish that broke like that. It broke the welds but I was able to drill out at the welds and put bolts though the holes and all was well.

    I just got a Inverto Black Premium LNB and it works better than any other LNB i have tryed. 2 to 3 db more than other LNBs, however if you were just starting out you would be better off buying a larger dish.

    Best way to remove a rusted out RG6 cable from LNB

    I had 1 like that. hit it with WD40 for a few weeks and pulled it out with a fine needle nose plyers. I use dielectric grease on the connectors now.

    I have thought about machining the back of the scaler ring flat then mounting a 2 x 2 x 3 long aluminum angle to the back of the scaler and use a large hose clamp around it and the lnb. then the lnb would sit in a V and doses not flop around when adjusting and tightning. that takes care of the...
