    Dish just lost another customer

ALMOST AH Heck, ALMOST is not good enough. If you had actually gone through with the fall, we could have have seen the results of the lawsuit.:D

    Seriously?

Yep, they sent me a refurb 211 (at no charge, just paid shipping) to replace a non-working legacy 301. And 3 years later it still works great. All the included cables and the remote looked new. I was surprised that the receiver was the classic silver color instead of the more modern black color...

    Astroid passing thru Clarke Belt

Great animation from JPL. Thanks for the link. Estimated size of the astroid is about half the length of a football field and the height of a 12 story building; so no small rock.

    Astroid passing thru Clarke Belt

A story appeared on last night's news broadcast about a significally large astroid passing through the orbiting satellite neighborhood on Friday afternoon. Actually they pointed out that the astroid would be traveling for a time between the earth and the Clarke Belt. I doubt if the rock would...

If you have an Eastern Arc, can you put a western arc LNB in it?

A western arc dish and LNB will work pointing to the eastern arc just fine...with one noticeable exception. You will only be able to pick up 61.5 and 72, but NOT 77. If you have no locals on 77 to view, then it works. I am currently using a WA 1000.2 dish and lnb picking up great signal...

    VIP 222 guide

Delay on my 222 remote too Same slow delay with my remote of the vip 222 receiver. Could it have been a recent update??? This is very annoying. And yes, batteries are good.

Lost Channels. Where did they go?

This is a sympton of a bad LNBF. If you can replace it that will likely bring all your channels back.

Part of 1000.2 DPP LNB dead?

Problem solved!! :) Replaced old DPP LNBF with new. All works fine. So I guess the LNB pointed to 129 sat was dead and the other 2 aimed at 110 and 119 are ok. I've replaced the old legacy quad LNBFs that had one or even 2 of the outputs not working while the others were, but both LNBs...

Part of 1000.2 DPP LNB dead?

The subject here is no reception on a 1000.2 dish for sat 129. The receivers are a 211 and 722. A friend said his 129 sat could no longer be received and called me to take a look at this problem. Upon arrival I saw that his line of sight for 129 might be blocked by a tree. So we moved the...

    1000.2 to 1000.4

IN A PREVIOUS THREAD I POSTED THIS...and it really works: Simple solution: IF YOUR LOCALS ARE NOT ON SAT 77. Move/rotate the 1000.2 to the eastern arc direction Adjust skew on 1000.2 dish by removing 2 of the 4 bolts on the skew assembly. Rotate reflector to proper skew angle (i.e. 74), check...

question for anyone using dish500 for 61/72

;) That sounds about right...in the 40s and 50s. 61.5 was always lower reading than 72, but with the new 61.5 sat the signals are apparently a good bit stronger. I am going to check some installations I've got in service on the eastern arc with the dish 500 to confirm my suspecions. If a...

Echostar 15 at 61.5W - Post your signals!

    North Atlanta GA Friday 8-6-10 8:30AM Partly cloudy / 85 degrees VIP 222 connected to a 1000.2 Dish (Yes, that's right, a 1000.2 re-skewed and optimized for 61.5 and 72 and no 77 sat) Signal seems much stronger than using 1000.4 aimed at 3 sats. TP 2: 56 TP 3: 72 TP 4: 50 TP 7: 82 spot TP...

Which TV is best for Dish?

Well, Zenith is no longer an active brand, and the early versions don't even compare with today's LG products. Plasmabuyingguide.com rates these TVs at 86 out of 100, And for the $$$ spent that's a very good TV at a very good price. The comparably priced 50" Panny P50X1 was rated 82. Only...

Which TV is best for Dish?

Well, up to this point I have not seen many (if any) comments about the LG plasmas, so here goes. I have purchased 2 since December 2009. I bought the first, a 50" plasma 720 for 738.00, which was about $300 less than the comprable 1080 model. And WOW...what a great picture. Plenty of expert...

Eastern Arc... Without Eastern Arc Dish

Yes, dish500 can pick up 61.5 and 72 sats, but only with receivers that are mpeg4 (211 or 722, etc.) No, lnbs will not fit 1000.4 arm, must have triple lnb DPP and NO for eastern sat reception unless receivers are mpeg4 (211 or 722, etc.)

Eastern Arc... Without Eastern Arc Dish

That works too, but if I were you I would get the dish 1000.2 or .4 as you are owed. You do not necessarily have to install it, but you can use it later if needed.

Eastern Arc... Without Eastern Arc Dish

Not a theory...it's a fact. I had a Dish 1000.2 lying around and thought I would try it. The LNB spacing is close enough (Only 1 degree off) and since the sat 77 is not needed for locals it worked great. Reception strength is good, as noted, and the 1000.2 dish is much easier to install than...

Eastern Arc... Without Eastern Arc Dish

Simple solution: IF YOUR LOCALS ARE NOT ON SAT 77. AND must have mpeg4 hi def receivers. If you can purchase a western arc (1000.2) turbo dish with DPP LNB (Try ebay or one of the sponsors on this sight). This dish is larger than a Dish500 and will give about 10-15 points better reception. You...

    Dish 500 LNB for 61.5 & 72?

90 skew is wrong for your location if you want to receive signal from both sats. Dishpointer will help find the skew. It should be around 72-75 for Georgia. A setting at 90 will only get you on one of the sats. I believe you wanted to hit both with D500.

    Dish 500 LNB for 61.5 & 72?

Dish 500 will work fine. Adjust skew for eastern arc and use DPP lnb. Strength meter will be about 10 points lower because reflector is smaller and lnb spread is 9 degrees, not 11...but it will work.

Transponder 32 on the 61.5 sat dead?

Reporting at 11:25 AM Monday that the Weather Channel is no longer broadcasting from TP 32 but is now on TP 10. Heavy clouds with rain over Georgia skies show a strength of 50. :o I have noticed that TP 32 has fluctuated in strength over the past few weeks. May TP 32 RIP  UPDATE...

Replace 1000.2 LNB with Eastrn Arc LNB

Simple solution: IF YOUR LOCALS ARE NOT ON SAT 77. AND must have mpeg4 hi def receivers. Rotate dish assembly to general sight of eastern arc. Adjust skew on 1000.2 dish by removing 2 of the 4 bolts on the skew assembly. Rotate reflector to proper skew angle (i.e. 74), check settings as per...

What's the reason for two "Info" screens?

You are right viggen61. :) Here we are almost 20 posts into this forum and you just stated the real difference...the satellite you are tuned to is identified, but my question is...why does it not show the satellite id on the first screen? Or even better, why is the sat id not shown on...

    Does Dish fiddle with satellites?

Similar issue here with signal strength from various transponders on sat at 61.5. Transponder 32 in particular. Up until 2 weeks ago mid 40s was my best reading. For the last few days it is at 53. Also increased strength on other tps. 8 week old dpp lnbf on the dish. So what's causing this???
