I currently have a Dish 1000.2 setup.
I want to change to Eastern Arc because trees are in the way.
Can I just replace the current triple LNB which is for 110,119,129 with one for 61.5,
72.7 and 77 and realign dish or do I have to replace the dish assembly too??
Please help!!!

1000.4 not compatible with parts from other dishes. I didn't want to upgrade for $99 so I bought the triple LNB holder for the 1000.2. Used a DP LNB in the center position and pointed to 72.7. Ran that cable and one from a 61.5 dish to a DPP33 for 3 outputs. Nothing on 77 that interests me. Got all HD ch I need.

Simple solution: IF YOUR LOCALS ARE NOT ON SAT 77.
AND must have mpeg4 hi def receivers.
Rotate dish assembly to general sight of eastern arc.
Adjust skew on 1000.2 dish by removing 2 of the 4 bolts on the skew assembly.
Rotate reflector to proper skew angle (i.e. 74), check settings as per dishpointer.
Raise azimuth angle to proper level.
Place foil over outer (EASTERN MOST) LNB
Aim center LNB at 61.5.
Western most Outer LNB will find 72 if all is skewed and aligned correctly.
Forget about tuning in 77, you most likely will not need it if locals are on 61.5.
Tweak your Dish Turbo 1000.2 for the 2 sats, 61.5 and 72.
Tighten all bolts including skew dial.
Your in business and should receive signals from high 40s to low 60s on 61.5 and 50-60s on 72.
Tweaking 1000.2 for 2 sats is much simpler than tweaking a 1000.4 and no arm braces are needed. :D

Good luck

Since you already have a dish aimed at 61.5, and presumably connected to the 1000.2, use the 1000.2 to pickup 72.7. This way you could maximize the signal from both sats. Leave only the center pickup on the 1000.2 LNB uncovered and set the skew to 90. Adjust the elevation to your location and 72.7 should be slightly to the right of where your 61.5 is pointed. But to echo Winman97, all your receivers must be MPEG 4. This is the setup I use. Hopefully Dish will not add anything worth watching at 77.

I see 77 sat being used for locals and eventually spot beam locals, & DISH latino packs. I see 61.5 eventually being used for international channels and more spot beam locals. This way they won't need to do two dish installs for eastern arc subs who want international channels. Will see what happens come this summer ,when they replace the old crappy sat at 61.5.

Don't you think 61.5 will also carry core CONUS HD programming, not just 72.7? E15 is an all-CONUS bird that will go to 61.5.

If they move all hd to 72.7 like they said they would , I only see it being used for conus international channels. But who knows ? DISH could change their mind and move all hd back to 61.5 once the new sat is up there. You never know with DISH .
